Life pro tip. Texas heat beats the new plastic colored bases.

I live in the San Antonio area, and I put a digital thermometer in my car to see how hot it got. The thermometer read 140 degrees, and probably would have read higher if it didn't cap at 140. Guess reptile thermometer makers don't plan on anyone finding lizards that bask in 140 degree plus sunlight.

Had to have the box or them in the sun. Can imagine them warping like that without being in it.

I bet they were in direct sunlight. I leave my stuff in my car all the time. But I make sure they are out of sunlight. On the floor behind the seat or whatever. No problems.

You ain't been to Tex-HEL... have you Brah?

No but I live in Maryland where there is 100+* weather.

Move to Montana?

Wowzers! How hot was it?

Doesn't have to be that hot, even 21 degrees outside turns your car into a 50 degree oven out of direct light.

Also good advice for Arizona. One of our league guys has a couple of droopy brobots that stayed in the car too long.

The trunk seems safe though. At least in the shade of the tree in my front yard. :)

This post had me worried, because I accidentally left my ships in my vehicle that was parked in the sun all day on Thursday in St. Paul, MN. The heat index that day was around 115, but they were safe, since I wisely put them in the in-floor storage of my minivan. I definitely won't be doing that again.

Could try boiling them in water or popping them in the oven and then resting them on a flat surface .. could also try shoving them inside a Taun Taun.

This made me laugh out loud. Best comment I've read in a good while. Heh heh heh...

Alternatively, leave your clear bases in the car and use these as an excuse to the wifey why you need to buy the new coloured bases.

And this is why dogs and children can't be left in vehicles! Yet, I see it all the time!

BTW, if there are any bowhunters here, same thing with your bows...Laminated bows will DElaminate in a vehicle as the temps can get to the same temp or higher as the hotbox they are baked in!

Yeah, but if you see a dog or child, you're allowed to smash the windows and get them out. With plastic bases though... ;)

Your right we need to change the law #baselivesmatter

You could try it here under the same law, though you might have to worry about proportionality. Say a collection of ships would be worth it.

As long as you prevent more damage than you cause you should be fine.

Do note that this applies in my country, not necessarily yours.

Hobo, you need to put that hashtag as your signature. :P

Lol the comments.

I thought only cowboys live in Texas.
