Jumpmaster Repaint

By bmf, in X-Wing Painting and Modification

I'll generally try to do up a quick repaint the night before going to a tournament. For the Vancouver Regional I decided to fly Dengar and Manaroo. I thought a Ying/Yang type repaint would be thematic, look good and be very quick and easy.

I used Krylon Colormaster White Primer and Krylon Camouflage Black Ultra Flat Paint. The Krylon Camo Ultra Flat paints are my favorite to prime with. You can also get them in Khaki, Brown, and Olive colours.

I then used Games Workshop acrylic paints and washes.

Dengar:

Prime black (Krylon Camo Black)

Paint middle section gold (Balthasar Gold)

Paint gun, tail, side fins, exhaust ports, and nose silver (Leadbelcher)

Drybrush the whole model silver (Necron Compound)

Paint cockpit and lights red (Mephiston Red)

Paint engine glow in 3 layers of various shades of blended blue and white (Ceramite White and Macragge Blue)

Wash the whole model with black (Nuln Oil)

Manaroo:
Prime white (Krylon White Primer)
Paint middle section gold (Balthasar Gold)
Paint gun, tail, side fins, exhaust ports, and nose silver (Leadbelcher)
Drybrush the whole model very lightly with black (Abbadon Black)
Paint cockpit and lights blue (Macragge Blue)
Paint engine glow in 3 layers of various shades of blended blue and white (Ceramite White and Macragge Blue)
Wash the whole model with black (Nuln Oil)

Look great. You did a great job keeping the paint job clean and detailed - and, as always, riding rails looks sooo deliciously scummy

The black one at the distance/lighting looks very basic, but the white one looks great even with that angle.
