Wave 9 is on the boat

By dotswarlock, in X-Wing

Yeah Haw! Perhaps Sept is a possibility!

You know nothing Jon Snow rrrr Eagletsi 4th quarter 2019

Interesting! I thought after things were on the boat it took 6 to 8 weeks normally. So that would put it at last week of sept.

Just saying!

The boat arrives when it's good and ready, it may want to take a detour to Cuba to enjoy some Sun.

I have bought none of them. None of them look that appealing to me as of yet, especially yet another TIE Fighter.

I might get the Shadowcaster and the backwards Syck, eventually.

I'm still pretty crushed over the sf, could of been so good but instead we got meh.

* must... have... them... all *

I think protectorate fighter is gonna shake up the meta really hard. That and the new crew that comes with heroes... Those crew and that unique astro could just make the arc 170 terrifying.

Fang fighters and manaroo gonna b good. Ig crew and that new pancake from scum looks pretty interesting.

My FLGS put out a post saying he got an email from FFG to expect the Wave to arrive by the end of August.

I'm not sur Heros will be at GenCon but I think wave 9 will. Both wave 5 and 7 were at gencon. And if they keep doing previews each week they can finish wave 9 before gencon but not heros.

That's fine, you still have your 100 other awesome Imperial ships. I mean, every faction has to get a mediocre ship every once in a while, right?

Reports from game stores are probably the sketchiest source on this stuff. They are just.....so...wrong all them time.

My experience with stores at least. Maybe that guy is better at it.

to be honest, most of people's negative views on timing seem to be because of Wave 8. The vast majority of waves in X-wings history have come near their projected release dates, with the exception of Wave 8, and Rebel and Imperial Aces. My prediction is that Wave 8 was an anomaly, a hiccup in their logistics by the Asmodee acquisition. Now that they've had the time they need to sort these problems out, i think Wave 9 will in fact land close to the projected late september release. The latest i would predict is mid october.

Yay! Only 5 months to go!

im believing 3months purely because we already saw the actual boxes for everything. HOTR was a 3D image so i wouldnt believe that in the slightest if it wasnt revealed eons ago.

Still waiting on more spoilers for that one....

I had suspected, given how long they waited to ANNOUNCE wave 9, that it was mostly through development already. Specifically to avoid the incredibly arduous wait time we had for Wave 8. This doesn't really surprise me. But we should plan on a 12-14 week boat- ride regardless. I'm BETTING on Halloween purchases of Wave 9 and Christmas for HotR. But I'm BUDGETING for Force Friday and Thanksgiving. :)

man, the SF isn't even mediocre

well, the generics are, but the named pilots have some dimensions to them that no other ships in the game can match (most cost efficient aux arc that can get full mods with FCS and then get to PS 9 with VI , and a better-than-cluster-missiles PS 9 that can potentially fire before PS 9 or higher pilots even get to activate)

the problem isn't that they're mediocre, as much as the Inq is just too obviously amazing for his cost

October 13th.

The Boat is never late, nor is it early - it arrives precisely when it means to.

Armada wave 3 has been on the boat since May 18th and still there. There were products that went "on the boat" after and have already started shipping. They seem to pick the slowest boats for Armada and x-wing.

It's Lyle Lovett Friday.

Strange that the Hereos set didn't go on the boat first since it started printing first.

YAY!!! The sooner Wave 9 gets here, the sooner we get a (hopefully more interesting) Wave 10 announcement!

I fully expect to see them pre released at GenCon. General release to follow in Sept/Oct.

Quoted for truth.

You might not remember the incredible wait for Wave 2- or the long wait for the reprints of the Squint + A-Wing. I don't mean Aces- I mean the regular blister that sold out instantly in Wave 2, and took about 3/4 months to come back in stock.

And I remember Wave 4. That Wave was so delayed that FFG had to hold a special tournament and give out bits of Wave 4 as prizes- just to show that they hadn't forgotten to develop the new ships.

And I remember Wave 5. That was the one that got released at GenCon- then saw mass release a couple months later.

And the Raider! I think that was actually delayed a solid year from when we had expected it until we got it.

What I'm saying is: FFG has a long and glorious history of logistics issues. Getting bought by Asmodee should have helped with this, but it doesn't seem to have.
