I believe it says specifically he cannot do this, something to the effect of "Splig cannot suffer wound or be defeated by any means until..."

From the errata:

Page 33, “Let the Truth be Buried,” Special Rules: Add, “While Splig is under the overlord’s control, he cannot suffer damage or be defeated.

Thx, Chinese version misses this section

If splig carries any relic when he is controled by hero, can splig keep relic to use ?

By the way , counter 2 is so hard for hero....
