Pvc gaming mats any good?

My friend and I are looking into gaming mats on the cheap for our casual home games. We've found someone who will pro t a 3x3 for about £16, the only unknown quality is how pvc holds up.

My friend is worried about it lifting and sliding round on the table mid game, anyone got experience playing on them? How do they hold on polished wood?

Ingen my opinion they are better than the official material.

E Mine doesn't slide since the back is not printed and thus not slick at all. The printed side is a bit slick, I've bought anti-slip pads at a hardware store for the baes.

A friend of mine has the FFG starfield mat, and it looks quite worn already. The PVC mats (I had mine printed for €13 incl. shipping, and my Epic/Armada mat came in at less than €20) are hard to beat when it comes to value for money.

My PVC mat satisfies me. I downloaded image and printed it at nearest advertising studio for something about $7.

I like mine. you just need to be a little careful about scratching them. I have a couple of minor scratches visible on mine.

We had a few until everyone got acrylic range rulers, tokens, asteroids, and templates. The acrylic puts a lot more wear on them quicker. If you stick with cardboard everything and put the bumpers under the acrylic bases I would imagine these would last a very long time.

The do look good! And you can get them custom printed with anything. I had a few with random images from NASA's hubble telescope.

Or just get a cheap yoga mat. I bought one from Amazon for like $14 that was bigger than the play area, painted it and cut it to what I wanted and it works great. Good grip but not too much and works great for other games as well.

They were the hottest way to play back in 2013. We still use them to supplement the official stuff during tournaments.
