Happy Friday, hope everyone is well.
Last question is when did you start playing X-wing

Havn't, yet.
Fall of 2014. After wave 4 (The TIE Defender being my favoritest ship from the lore) and just before the Decimator/Outrider release.
Wow, it's almost been two years. Bananas.
I think it was in 1993, back then i started as a co-pilot, my brother did the flying and i did all the keyboard commands.
When did defenders come out, again?

June/July '14
around 3 o'clock.
Started playing when a a co-worker invited me to play using his stuff. Around September/October of '14, right around when Scum was announced. A few months later, in January/February '15, after participating in a tournament, I finally bought it win the original core box, Rebel Aces, and a dice pack.
My collection has ballooned rather much since then, and I haven't looked back.
The weekend after wave 4 released.
Just after Wave 5 released. Nostalgia for the decimator sucked me in.
Shortly after the Kessel Run special event.
At Gencon 2012. I took my son with me and I actually got into this game because my 7 year old son wanted it so bad. I kept telling him that it was too complicated for him to play. I took him with me to Gen-con and the smooth talking FFG salesmen suckered me into playing a simplified version of the game with my son. Well as soon as the guy handed my son Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 it was all over, Dad's fun money would be going towards X-wing. Little did Dad know that as soon as I played my first game of advanced rules with my brother-in-law we would be hooked like a couple crackheads. Only problem was that I was off on a duty injury from the Fire Dept. And my fun money was non-existent. Thanks to some ingenuity and Diablo 3 I was able to start selling items on the auction house and made $2,300! Daddy needs a new pair of X-wings baby! I have never been hooked on drugs but I can only guess it's like playing X-wing.
Just before Wave 2. Sadly, a few games were all I got to play before a long drought that finally ended a few weeks ago.
Somewhere between Waves 2 and 3; I was just starting to give serious thought to a custom Lambda when they announced the real thing.
Happy Friday, Cubanboy!
My first game of X-Wing was with the 1993 PC floppy version of it. From that point on, I was enamored not only with X-Wings and TIEs, but with Star Wars and its lore.
The reencounter with this youth love was during Wave 5, after moving to another country and feeling nostalgia of everything I had left behind. I got two coresets for Christmas and both Rebel and Imperial Aces.
And it felt awesome to be back home, Chewie.
A long time ago, on a table far far away.....

Same, I had all my purchases planned out including some wave 4. Then I got the core set and tried out the base game, had a lot of fun, wanted to get more stuff aaaaand wave 4 was sold out. The quintessential X-Wing experience, I guess.

Birthday gift was the TFA core set
I was not fortunate enough to attend GenCon the year they debuted the prototype game, but I watched those videos again and again. I even dreamed about what playing it must be like. Literally, I had dreams at night about playing this game, I was anticipating it so much. When my core set and wave I finally arrived, I headed to the local game store in hopes of finding an opponent, and I found them! Been playing ever since. Best game ever!

Got into it as a result of a teacher at college last september (literally as the FA core was released). 10/10 have not looked back (and my wallet feels strangely light now
)
some time between wave 3 and 4
I'd like to say...over 30yrs ago, with:
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/17095/starhound
(still have the rules and all 8 models, and built a freighter to use for the suggested escort mission)
...but as far as 'real' x-wing goes, first game was New Years day, 2016...and, yes, my wallet feels a lot lighter, too! (only missing a Raider from the collection
)
Just wish I hadn't had to wait this long to be able to finally go pew-pew with a CR-90, Falcon and all these lovely fighters!
October-ish last year I think it was. Just before the Gozanti dropped.
What's it been three'ish years now with FFG. before that back in the 90's some of my RPG crew and I used Micro Machines to play some big-fun STAR WARS & STAR TREK Battle. We used AD&D rules for the mechanics, which I modified... of course.
Was FUN as shucks too!
Christmas Eve 2015 in the office
My friend and i mutually bought each other a starter set and, as we where the only 2 in the office, played for the rest of the afternoon plus all the other days in between. we also play every Thursday lunchtime and are running through the HOTAC campaign.
