List of species in Savage Spirit's Bestiary?

By GroggyGolem, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I'm hoping someone will be kind enough to post a list of the creatures in the bestiary of Savage Spirits. I'm not looking for stats, just the names of creatures and maybe a separation of adversaries/mounts so I know what is listed available for them.

I don't have any sourcebooks yet but I'm considering picking up either Savage Spirits or Nexus of Power.

The book doesn't actually say which creatures are mounts, but this is a list of all creatures from the book with my assumptions of which can be mounts based on the descriptions of the animals.

* possible mounts?

Albek (rival)

Creereen (minion)

Fissrit (minion)

Hurghol (rival) *

Jerethian Clamberwolf (rival) *

Kath Hound (rival)

Manka Cat (rival) *

Mantellian Flutterplume (minion) *

Narglatch (rival) *

Nexu (rival) *

Porvir (minion)

Reek (rival) *

Runderen (minion)

Spintiri Glowbat (minion)

Uxibeast (rival) *

Varactyl (rival) *

Vrblther (minion)

Thanks!

I'm interested in expanding the force stuff in my games. Nexus of Power sounds like it adds a good amount of info on certain planets, Vergences and even Jedi trials. Savage Spirits has a lot to do with creatures and includes a new force power I'm interested in.

In your opinion, which would be a better choice to pick up first between Nexus of Power and Savage Spirits?

Savage Spirits is best if you're looking to expand your Seeker trees.

Nexus of Power, if you can find a copy, is what you'll want to expand on Force lore in the galaxy

If I'm not mistaken, mounts have to be silhouette 2 or larger.

Definitely not mistaken, although there may be wiggle room if the PC is a silhouette 0 species and your GM is kind.

Tiny mount for a tiny guy

Dwarves on Ponies aka "The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey"

I'd say Nexus of Power is more useful for the GM, with a bunch of interesting force related locations for you to set adventures in. And Savage Spirits is more useful for players, with the new specialisations, force power etc.

That helps a lot. My players and I have discussed career sourcebooks before and I have told them they are always welcome to purchase sourcebooks that they have an interest in and we can use them. The only sourcebooks I have really been interested in getting on my own were the ones from FaD that include new force powers. I feel like the 11 powers listed in the FaD core book should be enough for now, as not many of my players chose to take Force Sensitive Exile.

There are also a bunch of Beasts in Suns of Fortune as well as Mounts in Stay on Target. If the group is less focused on the Force then one of those may be a better choice. Suns of Fortune has a huge amount of setting information on the Corellia sector and tones of ideas for stories to tell. Stay on Target is a must for any groups who want some extra Pilot character options, and Beast Rider is brilliant IMHO.
