What is a typical game length-turn wise?

Just curious as to what others are seeing. Me and wife are playing single vanila box set and seem to be getting about an average of 15 turns.

It certainly depends of who you play.

I would say that 2 minutes would be long, or at least starting to get to take a long time. However, if you have big choice to make, then it may take much longer than 2 min.

On the other hand, I have turns that are probably less than 15 seconds. The longer the game goes on, the more decisions you have to make and possible other forced actions must also be played. If you are experienced, then you may make the forced plays much quicker than inexperienced players. Considering this game is brand new, most of us are somewhat inexperienced.

So I guess to sum up my opinion, if someone takes longer than 2 min, then the turn is starting to take a little long.

Played quite a few games today. My friends and I have gotten too a point where our decks are where we want them. I have noticed typically and average game for us has been between 3-9 turns. The games lasting 3-4 turns typically consist of some pretty insane opening hands that were comprised of low % draws. A game with average draws from each player would typically go about 8-9 turns.

Average game should be about 10 turns for each player. Turns should only take about 2 to 5 minutes each.

Of course...depending on the race and deck build, your games can go for much shorter (Orc Rush) or longer (Empire/Dwarf Mill)

Took my first look at this game last night and was going to ask the same question. I think we are playing too conservatively because we went over 10 turns, taking time to "build up"...and yeah I can see how the orc rush would be a good stategy. gran_risa.gif

I'm very impressed with this game. The rules seem to work seamlessly, and the strategy blows my mind (I love strategic games like this despite the fact I'm really bad at them...).

Ya, I exclusively play orc blitz. My friend was playing a Dwarf build. Generally our faster games involved me with extremely low % draws like spider rider x 2 choppa x 2 and him with no "fog" effect (for non m:tg players an effect canceling all combat damage), these games generally were the 3-4 turn games. The middle of the road games involved me being able burn one of his areas rather fast than having to build up a little to set up a huge WAAAGH!, these games lasted around 5-8 turns. However it didnt always play out like that due to dwarves spectacular late game. The longer lasting games involved him stabalizing with dwarf rangers+grudge thrower, Keystone forges, and well....the notorius Dwarves with big butts (which ones you ask? dont they all have about 3000 hp lol?). Anyways those games went about 8-11 turns, but essentially they were done by turn 8 it was just a matter of him actually finishing me off.

Other than that my dwarf friend and another friend of ours games generally average about 8-10 turns as well our other friend plays a lot of different decks including orcsw/d.elves,empire, and others.

Played an epic game Wednesday night. I was playing Chaos and my opponent Empire. Game lasted close to 90 minutes. No idea how many turns. when I have some more time I will write it up and cross-post on BGG.
