Corellian Conflict - Back of Package

By WhatsArmadaWithYou, in Star Wars: Armada

Anyone else enthused by the completion level on this packaging?

It looks production level. I wonder if they are going to pull a ninja release with these and wave 3 and thats why wave 3 is taking longer. Perhaps you need gozantis and transports for the campaign.

In any case. Mentally I have already bought one of these.

And I have mentally taken the only one on the shelf right before you had a chance to get it ;)

Edited by Kiwi Rat

also the box says "Armada core set required to play" I'm thinking you are going to need a lot more than the core set.

That quotation is standard for all of the expansions, so no real reading into things there...

Interestingly, most products that are at this stage already show up in the "upcoming" section in at the very least "in development"

Again pointing to a ninja release. Which i will complain about not at all....

Mentally packing a knife and a ski mask...

Also,

FFG WHY HAVE YOU NOT FORMALLY ANNOUNCED THIS YET!!!???

Word. If you're displaying it in public, why not maximize publicity? Multi-channel marketing FTS (For The Sales).

I think because it saves them labor and builds excitement. Because we know something's coming, we're going to be checking their page more frequently, increasing web traffic, allowing rampant speculation to circle through the community, building ravenous enthusiasm,...

...and all they had to do was put a box out there, and not talk about it until they're ready to.

Or, it could just be because they don't have the time/energy/insight to roll out a PR plan, and unintended things happen.

Mentally firing up my chainsaw wearing a ski mask...

So, Shara Bey.... Looks like potentially doing 1 Damage to her attacker when she Scatters, and ahs Counter 3.

The Gamma Squadron B-Wings look like to have Blue-Blue-Black Anti-Squadron, with Bomber and Swarm.

I can' tmake anything out on Ciena Ree, apart from the standard Counter 2...

Although it looks like the last line might be Rogue, I can't tell.

Mentally preparing to approach from the rear, and thinking you can't hold a chainsaw AND game box at the same time and I don't need a left arm anyways

They recently Ninja-Released the Imperial Assault Maps... They went from Nothing to "ORDER NOW"...

So, "later in the year" is still a definite anytime possibility for us.

Named A wing counter 3 with 2 black and a blue. Gamma with swarm?

Talk about it good, talk about it bad but talk about it - Marketing motto :P

FFG are so messing up with ours head

That's what I said a couple of posts ago :D

They also have 2 Blue and a Black for Anti-Squadron.

I really like the idea that you can pop the squadron disks into the ones you already own. I can imagine more possibilities for existing ships as well (a VSD upgrade? :))

Will the 12 regular objectives and new squads be tournament legal? Or are they all for Corellian purposes only?

Also I cannot wait to see those fleet rosters to see what is really needed to play.

16 squadron cards = absolutely awesome.

For the 12 objectives, I wouldn't at all be surprised if we still pick from a pool of 12, but these are a combination of updates to old objectives and completely new replacements for the old objectives. A pool of 24 would be an absurd amount to pick from both in designing and in planning out your own plan of attack against other players.

****, I was hoping for a B-wing with the rogue keyword :P

They did say in the initial release in London that the 12 Objectives would be for "Competitive players" as well, which means they'll be legal int eh standard game.

Reinforced by the fact that there are 12 standard objectives, and 8 "Campaign" objective cards, which are separate, andfor the campaign...

The squadron cards, I see no reason why they wouldn't be legal in standard play. Especially since there is nothing overt on the cards shown taht would restrict them...... They should be pointed appropriately.

EVERYONE will want this. Even if you don't want to play the campaign. That's the way FFG operates, after all :D

Looks to be some unique generic "gamma squad" that are bringing one off premium versions of squadrons without tokens.

Jan Ors sez "oh hai!"

16 squads was way more than I expected.

WAIT!!!! Rogue squadron X wings! Can we hope?

Well, you still only pick 3. Picking 3 from a Pool of 24? Not a big deal. Still has to be 3 from each Type.... So it just means you'll have 8 Reds to Pick 1 from, and so on....

Looks like the station is going to have 13 hull points.

Mentally you slip on a patch of spilled chainsaw oil on the floor and loose your right arm instead

That's what I'm saying is a bit absurd. I'd rather have 12 new objectives that are outright replacements/updates, but still a basic pool of 12 objectives.

Well, that's your choice. :D

I'd rather have 24 unique objectives than 12...

Besides, then you're starting to get into the territory of what happened with the X-Wing Core Sets... In the fact that, to be "Competitive", you'lll have to pick up the New Core (or in this aspect, the campaign), and I doubt they'll repeat that fiasco...
