Nomenclatural PSA from TFA

By Budgernaut, in X-Wing

I think we should just give them the names based on the first thing that comes to mind when we see them:

Examples:

Astromech - Minion card

Elite - Olympics card

Missle - Trojan card

Torpedo - Slice O' Pie card

Turret - Spy On Your Neighbor Telescope (SOYNT) card

Bomb - Drug card

Cannon - Aquaman spear thingy card

Crew - Alpine Skier card

Modification -Fine dining card (looks like some fancy forks to me...)

Title - Dragonfly card

I've always seen the torpedo icon as a pizza slice.. still have to translate in my head 'pizza slice = torpedo'

edit: always just saw a cannon, but now that you said it i can't un-see the trident.

No, guys. The Torpedo is watermelon.

Funny that the Title card symbol is an X-Wing. Since... you know. It so totally has one.

Like am I the only one who is just now realizing that the X-Wing has graced the title card of literally every ship in the game, except for itself? How long is this going to go on FFG?!

Nope...it's a cheese & olive pizza slice.

"Literally every ship in the game"? Boy are you wrong! The E-wing, Khizrax, and generic Starvipers all say hello, and that is only the ones that need fixes.

We could add to that list plenty of ships that do not have titles that could do withthem, or even ships that have some other type of fix (B-wing) that isnt a title.

also we are in agreement though that the X-wing deserves a title- I'm hoping for a T-5B title. to come out around the same time as Rogue One (so December)!

EU is taken EPT it stays.

"literally every ship in the game"

Okay. Here we go. Ships without titles:

Rebel: X-Wing, B-Wing, E-Wing, K-Wing, Z-95

Imperial: TIE Fighter, TIE Bomber , TIE Phantom, TIE Punisher, TIE/fo

Scum: Kihraxz, Z-95.

The Scyk title is crap. The Virago is underwhelming at best. The Ghost/Phantom require each other to work. "Black One" isn't out quite yet. BTL-A4 can be difficult to use.

I'll admit this isn't a long list. But a few of these could definitely use some help.

EDIT for derp.

TIE Bomber has a title.

Overstatement for effect only guys. Literally.

Overstatement for effect only guys. Literally.

I understood the hyperbole.

But it does bother me when "literally" is used figuratively. Like those people telling you stories from their life and they say stuff like,

"I was so scared, my heart was literally bursting out of my chest."

"I couldn't believe it! My mind literally exploded."

And you're sitting there nodding your head, thinking, "Hmmm. Really .... It's a wonder you're still standing here telling me this story."

More like I'm sitting there nodding my head, thinking "wow, this guy doesn't understand what 'literally' means."

Using "literally" in hyperbole when "figuratively" actually means what you're trying to say is literally one of the dumbest misuses of English words in my mind.

I understand the intended effect. "Figuratively" doesn't have the same impact. Saying "literally" in place of "figurative" feels like you're hammering the point home more.

But it still sounds f***ing ridiculous.

Hmmmm....

Thanks for the PSA though Budge, I literally had no idea EPT was a player created phrase.

It is, in fact (i.e. literally), a phrase, which is among the dumbest (i.e. not smart) that I know of (i.e. in my mind).

So it's subjective then?

Seriously dude. Did the turnip truck just drive by or... ??

GAHHHHHHH! The new article mentions the "elite pilot talent upgrade slot!" So much for this thread. Too bad FFG doesn't read their own rulebooks.

EPTUS !
