First few turns add evade tokens to the X-wings then engage.

If the enemy targets the x-wings Thane is going to get a lot of actions and that means range 1 shots with full mods and getting in the way.

If the enemy targets Thane then the X-wings are going to have their evade tokens and do a lot of damage when they go.

You are spending quite a few points and several actions to enable Juke given that the T70s don't have a native Evade action. Maybe try switching them to this build:

Autothrusters give you a lot of protection against turrets and at Range 3 (a big bonus while Torpedo Scouts remain part of the meta). They only need to kick in once to equal IA with and astromech. Crack Shot only works once but it is more effective than Juke as your opponent cannot spend a Focus token to negate it plus it does not require an action to use.

The big advantage of this build is that it gives you an extra 8 points to spend elsewhere or to upgrade the Red Vets themselves to more punchy pilots.

It's a nice idea. Jan lets you stock up on evades, and the R3 theoretically lets you replace them once spent.

R7-T1 and Vector Thrusters..... I'm not sure. He's likely to draw fire so Jan Ors is a good call from that perspective too.

As Karhedron says, it does seem like a lot of work to give them access to Evade tokens, but it might work. Certainly Juke/Relay is the only real use which jumps out at me for R3 astromech

Agreed, I was just wondering what other people think and if this is worth a try?

And as you said it is about the only use I see for R3....

Dropping Juke for Crack Shot could be an option and that will allow the Vectored Thrusters to be upgraded to a Shield Upgrade for the ARC-170.
