I came here for a food reference. I was not disappointed.

I am SO glad we`re now randomly "shipping" two pilots and giving them a cute name.

This is not going to get old any time soon.

I don't think it's really new. I used to always call a TIE Swarm "Acadecadecadecadecadecadewlrunner"

Ah yes, you're right. I remember when Hantalalala won Worlds... completely slipped my mind.

The problem with this list of course is that:

Boba can't double tap.

Boba isn't using Zuckuss.

Boba doesn't have a turret.

Boba doesn't have Overclocked R4 or R5-P8 for infinite focus or anti-Ace coinflip shenanigans.

He doesn't have countermeasures or Lone Wolf, so he's not as strong defensively.

The Punishing One title is a waste on Manaroo if she's passing off all of her modifiers. If you're never going to modify your dice, you might as well not blow 12 points on Punishing One, because unmodified 3 attack dice are about as useless as unmodified 2 attack dice.

Boba doesn't have Deadeye, Advanced Proton Torpedoes, Extra Munitions, and Overclocked like my acid for blood variant does.

I had the same idea a couple of weeks ago; I have a list ready but I haven't had an opportunity to play in a while to be able to try it out:

Cheatin' on Dengar:

Boba Fett: VI, Engine, Slave I, Tactician, Glitterstim, Thermal Detonators, Extra Munitions (53)

Manaroo: Punishing One, Lone Wolf, Recon Specialist, R5-P8 (47)

The hope is that Manaroo passing Boba tokens keeps him alive long enough to deal a lot of damage, afterwards Manaroo can potentially clean up. Tactician + Engine at PS10 means I can threaten stress to any PtL Aces and more easily take them down on the following turn.

I really want to start playing with bombs. I figured Thermals could be really nice in my local meta which is heavily Ace driven right now in response to U-Boats and the recent slight nerf they took.

Yeah I knew I couldn't have been the only one to have this idea.

I do like that build, especially the alternate build-out for Manaroo. Getting R5-P8 in somehow is always a good thing in this meta. I definitely think Thermal Detonators are the best bomb for Fett. In my games so far, HLC did lots of work, which means no room for bombs sadly :(

I speculated on a Boba/Manaroo list back in April. Called it "Mindlink to Manaroo" (for thematic reasons, despite a total lack of Attani Mindlink).

Obviously, Boba Fett is not as big a threat as Dengar is, but you go from having 1 combat ship and 1 support ship to 2 combat ships, each with extra focus tokens (pop Glitterstim when you need the extra) and their own Lone Wolf type effect.

You totally get it, Manaroo getting Punishing One means it's two threats. Therefore damage output ends up similar to Dengaroo.

Your alternate Manaroo build is one I'm definitely looking at now.

My stab at this idea:

Fett designed to move where he does the most damage and take the least. Manaroo to support/block.

Navigator on Boba Fett is very helpful for getting his pilot ability to trigger more consistently. I've flown it trying to make Boba Fett work without engine upgrade in order to save the action. (I concluded that I still prefer engine over navigator) If Boba had two crew slots Navigator would be my second crew choice. Dengar, tacticion, Gonk, and 4-LOM are just to good to pass up for me.

I still have to fly my original BobaRoo list idea several more times to get a real grasp on its capabilities. Once that's done then I can try out a Lone Wolf Manaroo to see if it's better.

Notably this version loses Recon Specialist. Therefore you would definitely have to engage with Manaroo sooner rather than later. This potentially turns out fine as Manaroo always has Lone Wolf and R5-P8. My local meta is ace heavy so 4-LOM, R5-P8, and Inertial Dampeners would all be super useful to have.

PTL with Unhinged Astromech really is a good combo on Manaroo that does allow her to run away fast. With Lone Wolf + Punishing One I'm not sure if Manaroo has to run anymore.
