So Dengar and Manaroo is the current hotness. Yesterday it occurred to me that the Manaroo treatment could be applied to Boba Fett. I have flown two games with this list and I absolutely love it. Both victories of course.

:Observations:
Somehow there's room for Punishing One on Manaroo!!
PS 10 cause PS 9 is just too low
Boba Fett's pilot ability replaces Lone Wolf
Boba Fett doesn't get stressed & boosts around like a boss
Boba Fett has an extra hull over Dengar
Boba Fett has the evade action : focus, focus, evade token stack
IF Boba Fett dies, Manaroo still has damage output

:Questions:
Manaroo loses engine upgrade. Is this an issue?
Should 'countermeasures' be in there somewhere?
No Zuckuss. Is the HLC enough?

What do you think is the best build for BobaRoo?
The meta needs more Boba Fett, so we must find the best build!

Still I think Dengar has greater potential due to having a chance to double-tap INDAFACE and he can be utilized as a running back-spitting PWT if need arises.

You know, that list is still sort of Dengaroo ... from a certain point of view.

Dengar double-tap & PWT is most definitely extremely good. Hopefully BobaRoo ends up being only slightly less powerful than Dengaroo.

he's extremely better against a swarm or 4-ship lists. I can give him that.

But, sadly, FS is overpriced.

It works swimmingly with IG-88 as well...just saying

HLC seems a little wasted on Boba, IMO. With his ability you're going to want to be at Range 1 of your enemies most of the time, and with Engine Upgrade you've got the means to be there. I'd swap the HLC out for a Proton Bomb and Extra Munitions. :D

The reason Dengaroo works so well is because Dengar can double his offensive output as long as he catches ships in arc. Without that, you end up with . . . ya know, a normal human being list. One where both of the ships have to actually shoot at people in order to be effective. ;P

So is it good? Probably. Is it as good as Dengaroo? Naw.

I am SO glad we`re now randomly "shipping" two pilots and giving them a cute name.

This is not going to get old any time soon.

BTW not sure this list type works without Dengar as a pilot. Dengar in Dengaroo works because he usually gets to shoot twice which you need because you have 2 ships and one of them is keeping it`s distance from the fight.

Since manaroo has the title this time, and she'll want to be taking target locks to keep boba fed, she'll need to be in the thick of it too.

The upside to that is it creates hard choices. Do I point my ships at manaroo and let boba run free? She'll be tokened up. Or do I point my ships at boba, who will receive all the tokens and potentially arc dodge me?

Also, boba wants to be at range one yes, but is not required to shoot at something at that range. HLC is still good.

It doesn't work with Boba due to not having Zuckuss and Zuckuss being a poor choice on Boba due to wide blind spots. It'll not get damage through on Defenders or Aces, it will live longer but only just.

I had the same idea a couple of weeks ago; I have a list ready but I haven't had an opportunity to play in a while to be able to try it out:

Cheatin' on Dengar:

Boba Fett: VI, Engine, Slave I, Tactician, Glitterstim, Thermal Detonators, Extra Munitions (53)

Manaroo: Punishing One, Lone Wolf, Recon Specialist, R5-P8 (47)

The hope is that Manaroo passing Boba tokens keeps him alive long enough to deal a lot of damage, afterwards Manaroo can potentially clean up. Tactician + Engine at PS10 means I can threaten stress to any PtL Aces and more easily take them down on the following turn.

I really want to start playing with bombs. I figured Thermals could be really nice in my local meta which is heavily Ace driven right now in response to U-Boats and the recent slight nerf they took.

Oops! I meant Expert Handling! I'd take Barrel Roll over Boosting any day to get an enemy in my rear arc.

I speculated on a Boba/Manaroo list back in April. Called it "Mindlink to Manaroo" (for thematic reasons, despite a total lack of Attani Mindlink).

I think it has certain benefits. Here's the link and the post:

I've been tinkering with Manaroo support also, but with a partner that can more fully utilize the tokens she passes. I'm calling it Mindlink to Manaroo:

Boba Fett essentially has permanent target lock, with both his ability and Dengar. He'll be able to reroll all he needs to. The list defensive rerolls for both ships as well, which are really going to help them tank up, considering that Manaroo can pass focus tokens to whichever ship is taking the abuse, and this token passing can be supplemented by Glitterstim, when in need. This frees up Boba Fett to do take some Evade actions or some PS10 boosts, and still get full modifications.
Manaroo will have to rely on Lone Wolf + Recon Spec + Pain Droid to handle the fragile Imperial Aces who might otherwise be difficult to force damage through on. She'll be durable enough to last a few rounds and thus get a bit of mileage out of the pain droid.

I think the above list is fairly solid, if you pull the Tractor Beam and the Pain Droid and use the last 5 points to give your PS10 Boba Fett an Autoblaster Cannon (which should make short work of Inquisitor and Soontir Fel).

Obviously, Boba Fett is not as big a threat as Dengar is, but you go from having 1 combat ship and 1 support ship to 2 combat ships, each with extra focus tokens (pop Glitterstim when you need the extra) and their own Lone Wolf type effect.

I don't think it's really new. I used to always call a TIE Swarm "Acadecadecadecadecadecadewlrunner"

Manaroo needs engines to stay alive, so she can zip to where the battle isnt. Zuckuss and overclocked make dengar hit super hard on both attacks and get through anyones tokens. Boba doesnt have thise abilities. Still looks like a tough list, but I wouldnt play it like dengaroo, I would bring Manaroo into the battle with that punishing one title
