=THE NEXT ARMADA EVENT ON VASSAL= ROUND THREE... FIGHT!!!

By doobleg, in Star Wars: Armada

Sounds like a good game Lyraeus. Just a heads up: the new tournament FAQ only makes the final MOV no higher than 400. You can get as many victory points as you want prior to the end of the game. So you'd still be at 253 regardless.

We're not using the new tournament regulations for this tournament, as they were introduced half-way through the Swiss rounds. As such, 400+ final mov is still possible. ;)

And anyway, in the new tourney rules, MOV is set to max 400, but that doesnt prevent a score of 600 vs 200 being MOV 400. Individual score is not capped, only the margin of victory.

Looks like people are misunderstanding my comment. I do realize that we are using the previous score system. Lyraeus seemed to indicate that he couldn't exceed 400 VP under the new system, and that is incorrect.

In which case my comment stands, but to Lyraeus not you.

Ard vs WAWY starting up shortly. Come watch WAWY's DeMSU wreck my 80-30-30! :)

Ard vs WAWY over, WAWY wins 10 (490) - 0 (126). He went first, and we played my Precision Strike.

I'll probably do a summary later on, gotta run for now.

WHOA WHAT A GAME! tgall vs Lyraeus ended with 207 to 460! so 253 in the favor of the rebels

If my calculations are correct, then Lyraeus is in the lead to be the wildcard 8th entry to the top - I don't think he'll make the 7, but this MOV is the highest so far of the rest...

If he does make the top 7 with tournament score, then I think I am in line as the wildcard.... come on, 5/5s!

My understanding is that the wildcard is the highest single game MOV during round 4. Is that not correct?

That is correct. :)

Details are in the first post of the sign-up thread.

Maturin vs Roquax

155 vs 234

Roquax wins: 91 MoV

As reported above, MoV would in fact be 79. Could you please confirm those figures for me? :)

Thanks for a very fun game Roquax! Yes, these are the corrected numbers.

Roquax out-deployed me by setting his transports down first. I placed my faster fighters in the middle of the board, but his MC80's managed to avoid most of them by skirting the board edge. I had to break off Gallant Haven to help hurry some along with Adar, which left poor Yavaris taking the brunt of Ackbar-assisted broadsides. I didn't get a single double-tap off with my fighters. I also flew the rest of my small ships into his devastating broadsides in the late game. My fighters killed one of his MC80's, but at the cost of all of my small ships.

We both had 6 precision strike tokens. Man, those multiple accuracies really hurt!

Well done, Roquax. An excellent game with a gracious opponent.

Neb will double check the math, but if my math is right Neb beats Daht 342-222 playing most wanted for a 7-3.

GodofCheese vs. Moodswing5537 about to happen! Stay tuned!

Moodswing vs GodofCheese

Win to Moodswing5537 (340-175) for MoV of 165

we flipped for initiative, and he won, choosing 1st player and playing my contested outpost.

It was an epic squad battle in the middle of the map by rnd 2, but my antis-quad was a little stronger, collapsing his x wing formation down the center. While that was going on, GoC started bombing runs on tarkin, which I had to ignore for a round, but the dmg was done. After rnd 3, tarkin was almost shieldless, and I had wiped out all the bomers, but tarkin was destined to die to the MC80. By this time, my bombers and other ships had removed the flotillas from battle, and were pushing bombers toward the MC80, but in rnd 5 it was obviously over. We called it. The biggest difference was my Henry McKenna sitting on the station all 6 turns.

This was an awesome game to play, and GoC was an excellent player, staying up till 1am to play me. I applaud his dedication, and look forward to more matches with him in the future.

Miedomeda vs miferr is scheduled to start in 1/2 hour!

Neb will double check the math, but if my math is right Neb beats Daht 342-222 playing most wanted for a 7-3.

Math is correct, thx Daht for reporting! Was a pleasure playing you, and thx for showing up after so many hours of sleep deprivation caused by IA ;)

I had initiative and took first player. Of the 8 ships on the board, 6 didnt survive. There are things that are not meant to be parked right in front of an ISD.

Aresius and I just finished up.

He scored 258.

I scored 233.

We rolled for initiative as we both had full point squads. Aresius won and chose 2nd player. I chose his Hyperspace Assault. His Adar Tallon GR-95 went into hyperspace.

His squads gobbled up my Assault Frigate way quicker than I would have thought (Round 2).

My Mc30 and Yvaris took on his Liberty and took it down early but not before it unloaded its front arc on each of my ships. Yvaris took it like a champ. Mc30 .... did not. It was 1 shot with most of its shields remaining. I guess when a MC30 can't redirect it explodes.

After that we both just had Yvaris, 2 transports, and a TON of squads flying around. I had never been in this situation where the ship - ship firepower is so low. His squads took out one of my transports but at the cost of being wiped by my squadrons. Toryn got a lot of chance to use her rerolls here.

It was a very exciting back and forth game and further impressed upon me the HUGE threat posed by rebel bombers with all their new toys. Thanks for the game Aresius!
