Dengaroo Anonymous

By Polda, in X-Wing

We were going to play a Coruscant Open revisited event at the club tonight but everyone is focused on the upcoming UK Nationals.

So I've been asked to fly some filth at them for practice so instead I'm going to be flying Dengaroo for the first time.

The anticipation is almost killing me....I feel dirty already

LIke everything, it does require some skill. It's not point and shoot by any means.

I faced it twice on Vassal the other day, once I got absolutely and totally owned, the other I weathered Dengar's initial assault and my crack swarm backed by Tractor Maarek exploded Dengar in the first round of shooting even with COuntermeasures (a feat which the list was built to do to Scouts, to be fair) and my opponent then conceded.

So it's definitely not invincible, but it does provide harder counters than before to some of the most meta-stable lists, particularly palp/aces, albeit Omega Leader is VERY strong against it.

Back when Fat Han was the rage I decided to play a game using that build so I could get a better understanding of how to beat it. The game was so one sided that it nearly resulted in my close friend flipping the table as I just causally soloed (pun intended) his entire list with disturbing ease.

I actually ended up apologising to him for what was one of the worst games of Xwing I've ever played, I felt so dirty and swore to never touch that build again. I then went home and had a scalding hot shower and scrubbed myself clean with a brillo pad.

Hi,

My name is AT Leader. I played what you call Dengaroo, I call Mangar for a FLGS tournament. I won, and I feel dirty for taking store credit from people who came to have fun. It felt so good, but I know it shouldn't.

I hope they can forgive me...I like my new friends.

I once used triple imperial aces with triple auto thruster against triple scouts. It felt so dirty. I even had Jax in the list. It felt so dirty and now I can't stop thinking of doing it again and evading those 4 hits torpedos completely over and over again until my enemy is so frustrated that he considers resigning.

But I regret my mistake. I upgraded to Palp aces and it feels great.

If you feel dirty using Scum's tricks, you shouldn't be playing Scum. The entire faction is about being an absolute arse to your opponent, and revelling in it. During Regionals, I ejected two Palpatines from their comfy sit-n-spin seats, an HLC off a rather annoyed Dash, a PTL from a decidedly miffed Soontir, and a partridge in a pear tree. They were all horrible things to do to my opponent at horrible times, but they were all secretly gleeful moments.

Similarly, in the same tournament, I used Feedback Array to horrible effectiveness, actively happy to chew up the last hit point on my Jumpy to remove the Inquisitor from the board (who had managed to survive the attack, only to blow himself up), and setting up a double-feedback on a shieldless Whisper. It's a horrible, nasty, dirty upgrade, and it was responsible for about 6 or 7 ship kills that day, and it was glorious .

Revel in your scumminess. Never be ashamed of it.

I was flying Wes, Biggs, Keyan at a recent local Hangar Bay tournament that was really janky. Wes had BB-8, VI, IA Biggs had R4-D6, IA and Keyan was Guidance Chimps, Opportunist, Extra Munitions, Proton Torps, FCS.

Entering the last round get paired with a new guy who had a Corran, Tycho, Gemmer list and 3 turns later he conceded with Gemmer left. Corran ate a 5 dice Proton Torp after Wes striped his shields then next turn Tycho ate one as well!

Felt so dirty, but I'll fly it again lol.

Hello everyone, I'm M. and I...

I...

I flew Dengaroo today and I felt dirty doing it.

I don't know if it's the Zuckuss forced rerolls, not caring about actions on Dengar or running away with Manaroo but... but... I feel like I'm hurting my friends by stacking 20 stress tokens on a ship that's somehow still pumping out 6-8 hits a round (before green dice).

So that's my story.

If you have a similar one, step forward and speak up.

Fly casual. And don't be a d**k.

Note: Clearly, this thread is about when you felt like the biggest scumbag while playing the game.

I fly a variant that can fire off 2 fully modded Advanced Proton Torpedoes if they choose to fire at Dengar. It works spectacularly and it's HILARIOUS. If they don't fire at Dengar, works for me too.

I don't feel bad at all about Zuckuss. Maybe if the meta wasn't filled with overpowered invincible ships, you wouldn't need to run Zuckuss.

I'm glad that this is a massive NPE list for everyone, good. I thought that turrets take skill, care about maneuver dials, and don't ruin the game. Isn't that right, everyone? Right? The game isn't broken and isn't just a win in the list building phase upgrade card fight, right?

Maybe you should just get good and just block Manaroo. If she ptl's her dial is real limited. Stop using hyperbole, there is no such thing as an, "autoloss".

Ahahahahahaha!

Jap, I do greatly enjoy flying against such lists. Which is the irony, the only honest NPE would be playing with you and not against your lists.

Also Vessery with Tie/D and Ion/Tractor and Palp against anything with less than 3 agility is about as dirty as it gets!

I feel dirty by using this list in a semi causal 8 man tournament and won 2 out of 3 games 100-0 (3rd game lost to bro bots 25-100)

Tri hwks (100)

Palob Godalhi (38) - HWK-290

Expert Handling (2), Twin Laser Turret (6), "Gonk" (2), Cloaking Device (2), Moldy Crow (3), Stealth Device (3)

Torkil Mux (31) - HWK-290

Twin Laser Turret (6), Zuckuss (1), Feedback Array (2), Stealth Device (3)

Spice Runner (31) - HWK-290

Twin Laser Turret (6), Flight Instructor (4), Feedback Array (2), Stealth Device (3)

I'm assuming you played against a lot of inexperienced people.
