Heros of the Resistance

By librarian101, in X-Wing

What if "Pr Thrusters" are Primary Thrusters and give you boosts that are speed 2? And can only be equipped to ships with boost already.

Could be interesting, though hell it could be broken (as a pseudo SLAM but alowing you to fire), but I could see it being useful for Imps and the Awing, and T-70.

That upgrade would be silly on interceptors, because they can also take Autothrusters. Like prenerf phantom silly. In fact, exactly like the prenerf Phantom, except that he has more choices. And there would be similarly powerful combinations on the T70, also. Give PS9 Poe BB8 and Push with the ability to boost at speed 2. Free Barrel Roll, 1 OR 2 Speed Boost, Green maneuver, Focus Action. Already possible other than the longer boost, but giving him SIX choices to boost, including 3 really fast ones, would be silly.

could also be TEch

in fact, probably is because why would you give a mod to an X-wing (integrated)?

I agree it would be cray/silly on Interceptors. Though i dont put it past FFg from forgetting that is could be abused by certain other ships. Or not realizing that it could be really good in certain combinations.

Fickle, yeah, it could work as a tech upgrade, much more balanced (so far) if done that way.

also dont think that this is what i want, just a possible idea thrown out in speculation if it is "Primary" and not "prow" thrusters.

I mean, speed two boosts are insane from a repositioning standpoint, but if they're doing white sloops sure, why not, T-70 can now boost at speed two. Blue Ace will be thrilled.

if it were a cheap tech-slot boost, man o man will "Backdraft" ever be pleased :)

if it wasnt for the bit of wording we can see i would expect the tech slot to be a "may only have 1 focus but may keep it at the end of the round" - since were missing that side of the coin for that tech now that we got the blank -> evade w/ focus

Since the HWK-290's Moldy Crow title lets all the focus stick around forever, I really don't see it happening.

I'm actually surprised that we've been getting wave 9 articles before ones about HotR.

Wave 9 is going to be available before Heroes of the Resistance, that's why we're getting those articles first. I was talking to someone from FFG about the street dates for each and he said they didn't have dates yet but that Wave 9 will hit first. Wave 9 now being "on the boat" pretty much confirms that.

wow, just noticed that the Heroes were all survivors of EP 7

Is FFG sending us a coded message that Han Solo lives by including him in this expansion?

Chewbacha- "Rouorgh"

Me- Yes, he does!

So what do we call New Han? Is he New Han or Old Han, because he's Old, but then the original Han is older, but it's Young Han.

New Han is old.

Old Han is Young.

Old Han is new.

Young Han is Old.

Ahhhhhhhhhh!

So what does New (Old) Han do? Venture a guess.

It would be handy if it does work like that. A good choice for Poe obviously but might it be enough to make cheap ordnance viable on T70s? Plasma torps with TL an Focus perhaps?

theres also another card with the Xwing on it... "Pr..... Thru...." - im guessing thrustors meaning some kind of mobility upgrade?

Since Vectored Thrusters adds a Barrel Roll, I am guessing that Prow Thrusters will probably add a Red Full Stop to your dial. Probably small ship only but can be used more than once (unlike inertial dampers).

Imagine that on Hobbie :P

Prow Thrusters + Targeting Astromech

As long as you have any enemies in range you can just stay in place and have both focus and TL (and no stress) on every turn. Of course nothing stops you from mixing it up with (also steressles and with both mods) K-turns :D

"When you reveal a 1-straight you may instead choose to execute a red full stop' would be an interesting mod option - limited in use to TIEs because none of them HAVE the 1-straight.

Thanks for the eBay link! Now just need to find out whether the seller ships to Australia!

And thanks for the suggestion, too, Dagonet. I think I'll stick with TFA releases, though (with the exception of Chewie) for my wallet's sake. ;)

I said the exact same thing a few months ago... Then I started playing at my FLGSs, and now I have 70 ships, at least one of everything except epics.

Well, the 'special' thing he does is the whole 'lightspeed jump suicidally close', but since that involves crashing an unplanned emergency landing, it's not the best thing to do in game.

At the same time, I'd love to see a pilot whose deployment is not restricted by the 'normal' deployment zone - an analogue to 40k's Scout or Infiltrate - given his high Pilot Skill, he generally deploys last anyway, so has that half of the rule 'built in'.
