Brace Yourself Command Card?

By Boba Rick, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

How does this card work?

lots of abilities allow for an attack out of sequence (leia, jyn, rgc, elite imp officer, hired guns/greedo when they die, etc) this card activates when one of those abilities is triggered and an out of activation attack occurs, this gives you plus 2 blocks.

that's the way I've read it. very situational

Thank you! Wow, that is VERY situational.

That's probably why the cost is zero. Very handy versus a Leia/Troopers list, less so against a HK's/Creatures build.

BUT, if your local group loves those out of turns attacks, this could be a solid meta call.

Also good against Executive Order, Slow on the Draw, and Parting Shot. (Edit: at least two of which were mentioned without naming the abilities above.)

And against some other command Cards like Gideon's Take it down, Loku's card or Parting Blow.

also works on ferocity or jundland terror, things which let a model attack or so things end of the round etc

Yeah, its a pretty good card. But situational. If you have room, sure, but I imagine you can find some others that arent AS situational that you can fit in your deck.

Should be a picture of Greedo on that card.

no it should have Eddard stark on it

Raising this topic from the dead! :D

... because I think the meta may now call for this card!

Han has an end of round attack and Return Fire. Greedo has a parting shot. Every Imperial list is running Vader or the Emperor. Even Leia could sneak into a build and force Chewie or Drokatta to shoot. Are we SURE that two blocks for no cost is a bad card? Especially in, say, EVERY ZILLO DECK?!

Lets not forget Vader and Hans end of round attacks as well. This card became a lot more usefull after release of HOTE

Dont forget little Jyn Odan too...

That's a good card for this meta.

I’d definitely give this a try in an imperial list, where you can zillo it away for a block if you run into a group without out of activation attacks.

ISB Infiltrators are interesting. It's the figure's group's activation, but not the figure's itself. Can you Brace Yourself for that madness?

Yes, no different to Executive Order or Order Hit.

Don't forget good old Palpatine

You can make Palpi use his Emperor-ability on a hostile figure, and then you can use Brace Yourself for the damage to come - the options are limitless!!!

Tonight i Had Han Solo use his end of round attack on Vader, i had Brace Yourself and Brace for Impact in my hand then your opponent rolls max of 7 dmg and even after rolling only 4 blocks realises how feudal the attempt was only doing 1 dmg, and thats with a bad defence roll.
