Biggs, Corran Horn and a Stress Y

By So Crates, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Saw that Blair Bunke did well in the Vancouver regional with Biggs, Corran and 2 Talas.

However, I thought that perhaps a Stress Y would add a little more control:

Gold Squadron Pilot (18)

Twin Laser Turret (6)
R3-A2 (2)
BTL-A4 Y-Wing (0)
Corran Horn (35)
Push the Limit (3)
Fire-Control System (2)
R2-D2 (4)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Biggs Darklighter (25)
R4-D6 (1)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Total: 100
Thing is, I don't have an E-Wing (one of the few ships I don't have yet) to really try it other than perhaps in Vassal. Thoughts on this list?

Looks pretty solid. Double stress will gum-up U-boats for a while and Biggs will ensure it lives long enough to pull the trick a couple of times.

I think I slightly prefer Poe to Corran as an Ace but there is no denying the power of that double-tap.

Its a good list, although I personally prefer Corran with advanced sensors.

The only problem is that Gold Squadron is PS 2, and its not a really good spot to be in the meta right now...

I agree. FCS is great on the budget Corran, but IMO the full PtL Corran is better with Adv Sensors. It allows you to be more aggressive without fearing blocks, and also keeps you dial open for K-turns and white manoeuvres. He's also just plain annoying to pin down and get shots on. You can get the 1pt needed for Sensors by scrapping the gold's TLT for and ICT instead.

It's a list I've run before, and it's quite good.

I picked up an E-wing today, so going to definitely give this a go. One of the reasons I considered FCS over Adv Sensors, is that with FCS you get a TL on the second attack. This adds greatly to the offense I would think. But I suppose defense is good too :)

The basis Stresshog absolutely loves a spare two points. You can either bump it up to PS4, which is huge vs U Boats, or put bomb loadout and a seismic on there, which helps with it's greatest weakness (being followed).

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a spare two points in your list...

depends on your play style and what's supporting him I think.

I use Corran strictly as a flanker and fly him with a Fat Han. I used Kanan to rip the stress of Corran to keep his dial open (unless he needs regen). Works very well, a lot of fun.

There is a lot of different ways to build Corran... it comes down to your play style for sure....

VI, FCS, R2D2, EU

PTL, Adv. Sensor, R2D2, EU

are the two most common.

I actually find that ditching EU to put extra power into other ships is more valuable however.
