My dog ate a Nav token... and other stories from the fringe.

By GammonLord, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

Game laid out on the floor and my dog managed to eat half my fish cake dinner ..... and a Nav token.

Anyone else had chance occurrences happen? (as an aside, i had Garm - she promised id get it back by turn 5...)

Give your dog the Wulff officer upgrade. You will get the token back much quicker.

My first game after buying the core set: I got so eager I smashed my fist down on my Neb. It braced, but still lost the antenna.

Wonder if the dog could catch its own tail with the extra yaw?

Wonder if the dog could catch its own tail with the extra yaw?

Only if it had a Nav team or Madine

My dogs chewed on a few of my speed dials.

Eagerly moved a dice tray and clipped the front end of a corvette. Snapped the peg. I had literally opened the brand new Corv for that game!

My dogs chewed on a few of my speed dials.

Oh! A dog on speed chasing its' tail. That will never end well. :(

Dropped a victory in the John. Don't wanna go in to details, but it ain't a euphemism

My son, at 3 when I got the core set.. he is 4 now.. picked up the vic.. and proceeded to make space ship sounds. And blaster sounds.. having not seen much sw.. sigh. I love my son..

Now when I ask "what do we do with rebels" he responds with "we fight them" hehehehe yay my sith son..

After painting in the garage my wife waned me that one of my tie fighters was out in the middle of the floor. I went out to go grab it so that it wouldn't be stepped on and that is when I realized I was in the middle of a cleaver imperial trap. The loan tie fighter was the bait. What I didn't realize is that his squadron mates were lying in wait only a foot in front of me cleverly disguised as the garage floor. When I took my next step the trap was sprung. I felt the incredible pain of their critical hit on the bottom of my foot. After hopping around for a minute or two and taking the stand out of my foot I realized the trap had failed and the damage was merely superficial. One tie fighter did face the ultimate sacrifice and lost his craft in the engagement. The wing of the brave pilots craft was never seen from again.

The remains of his ship now stand in solidarity as a monument to the tactical genius behind their plan.

So that also explains your avatar.

This is not so much with SW Armada, but, I find it an amusing tale to tell.

I was over at a friend's house, many years ago (early 90's), playing X Wing on his PC (or it may have been TIE FIghter...yes, actually, I think it was TIE FIghter. I was using a hyperspace capable ship.) I had worked very carefully to complete a mission that was difficult to execute. I had just finished my last objective....my LAST objective, when my friend's cat jumps up onto the table, and his paw hits the "H" key on the keyboard. Darth Vader could not have moaned a better: "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" as I sat there, jaw wide open, staring in disbelief as my fighter whirled about and jumped into hyperspace, aborting ALL of my progress.

Seriously, this was like watching everything transpire in slow motion. After my initial shock, I was laughing so hard that my friend had to find out what was the matter....I explained it to him, and he too was practically rolling on the floor laughing till almost breathless.

Lesson learned: Cats and computers do not get along. :D

Day one I snapped my antenna on the Victory class from the starter.

Yeouch!!!

Finished putting all my ships away into their newly purchased foam trays for protection. Snapped the antenna for the Victory as I put it in. It had survived unharmed until I actually tried to protect it.

My Victory Expansion came with a loose antenna, so I cut them both off to match. Maybe that is why they are generally so sluggish... lack of communication due to missing antenna!

I had to necro this thread. The other day one of my dogs ate one of my gladiators. I had just finished painting it and went outside for about ten minutes, when I came back inside it was completely chewed up and the top portion fell off when I picked it up. A sad day for the Empire indeed.

I 'liked' this, but man that sucks. . .

I blame Vallejo for making such tasty paints.

So my bad luck continues. I ordered a Vigil class corvette from shapeways to replace the Gladiator my dog ate and a gozanti to replace one I broke the peg off of. Finished painting the gozanti Saturday and broke the peg off putting it on the stand. Finished the Vigil last night left it on the counter to dry and woke up to hundreds of tiny little pieces of chewed up plastic this morning. Anybody want a dog she's a rebel and a traitor.

But a day of relief for the Rebellion :D

Bought the starter set. It arrived (bet you didn't see that coming ;) ), and the first thing I did was admire each of the ships one at a time. When done looking at each ship, I returned it to the plastic and got out the next one. Can anyone guess what happened when I put the lid on when finished?

I'll give you a clue: it happened to the Victory

Just pull the darn thing out. Looks better without one.
