Ikka's scrapyard

One thing I could suggest trying out for the rust would be dry brushing the ryza rust over some parts the Typhus corrosion a bit. I've done that for rust and had good results. It gives the rust a bit more variety.

That's the plan, just didn't have the paint with me last night.

Jumpmaster finally taking shape. Not my favorite ship, in aesthetics or gameplay, but a simple scheme is all it needed. Fabric jewelry works pretty well for engine glow I think. CXYGLyB.jpg

Full fleet pictures- everything aside from the Mining Guild TIEs and two silver Kihraxz fighters painted. Working on getting a few more cockpits painted with the green, but I'm happy with what I've got done so far.

As a personal feeling, SW universe has a notorious lack of metallic tones. Bitz like the sabers or the astromechs have it, but it isn't usual on big surfaces at the ships. They go gray or pale brown more than metallic. So I prefer grays and browns or NMM if you can, even for rusts.

Whatever. This is only my personal taste. Your paintjobbis very good and your fleet has a corporative look that I like, except for that not-solonized-yet Falcon.

@Ikka Mind if I add a pic of your fleet to the Fleet Showcase ?

Go ahead!

Dirtied up the badly painted blue Aggressor assault fighter, I painted them very early in my X-wing career and just didn't like how they turned out. So this one is in pretty terrible condition, being dirty and rusted, while I'm thinking up a paintjob for the second. I'm waffling between painting it very shiny and silver, with maybe some blue or red accents, or doing it in a half CMS/half rusted scheme like my Lancer. Any thoughts? Can't decide at the moment, but I've got it back to my base steel coat and I'll be look at painting it next week.

Also on my workbench are my Mining Guild TIEs, which I decided to finally paint. While I enjoy the industrial look of the yellow and hazard stripes, they just don't fit in with the rest of my rough-and-rusty Scrapyard Scum. This first TIE is just a work in progress, I have the modeling done and will be painting it up soon. I though that since they run in asteroid fields a lot, sometimes they would get hit with debris and small rocks that won't destroy them. So this TIE got hit from his starboard side, multiple impacts punching through the panels and even three small rocks imbedding themselves in the ship/panels. Anyway, that's all for now, thanks for looking!

That thing needs to get into the repair bay quick if it's going to do any good!

I like the little rocks. Nice touch!

Thanks- Just finished painting it and the other two, so I'll have those photos up in a few hours or days, whenever I remember to take pics. Repair bays are for fighters that are worth repairing, these are just TIEs!

Here are the repainted TIEs. Being as TIEs are about the cheapest starfighter you can get, the Mining Guild gets rid of them if they have an sort of minor damage from say, a rookie flying too close to the surface of a roid or a pilot getting caught up in an unexpected shower of debris. So CMS will scoop them up at rock-bottom prices and give them to the more inexperienced pilots. Thanks for looking!

Nice work, thanks for sharing!

Nantex fighter, suitably made scummy. Like the BB, the Nantex is slightly better off than the Vulture droids, but still hard-used.

Also finished my second Aggressor. Now all I have left is my Scum YT1300/Escape Craft, and I'm not quite sure what to do with it.

Still working on the Scum YT, put on my steel first layer and just trying to plot out where I want colors to go- I'm looking at doing something similar to the half and half Lancer I did earlier, but rather than have a straight divide down the middle, I'm going to put patches of CMS crimson and bronze amid a bunch of ugly steel bits. On to other things, I managed to pick up a Hyena bomber last night before my league match and got it painted tonight in the same fashion as the Vultures (the new ship was the best part of the night, I lost in a 20 minute 200-0 slaughter, worst I've ever done..). I also repainted one of the two silver Kihraxzs that was in the fleet shot. The other was simply washed with Nuln oil to look like a stripped-to-bare-metal job, but this one was washed with Reikland Fleshshade and it really didn't look good. So I just took some more wash and dirtied it up like the droids. While most of my Kihraxz look fairly good, for the Scrapyard Scum, this one has been treated fairly rough and left to sit in a mud puddle for a while. Anyway, as always, thanks for looking! ok7xm4z.jpg jKnRt3o.jpg RWp1nE1.jpg S0CWCWX.jpg ZrxW23H.jpg ateKSDm.jpg

Before getting too in-depth into my Scum Falcon repaint, I made this ugly thing. Still have some TIE and Awing parts left, so I might be able to build another abomination eventually, but I'll paint this up nice and ugly and add it to my collection. Thanks for looking!

"From the company that brought you the Condor heavy torpedo-bomber and the Kai superiority fighter, Cuul'ti Merchant Services presents the Xuvva light starfighter. Designed for the budget-conscience consumer, the Xuvva is a sharp little fighter that will please even the most discerning pilot. Combining the proven technologies that made the TIE/ln, K-wing, and E-wing fighters so legendary, the Xuvva is a deadly beast. Twin laser cannon, missile hardpoints, and two FreiTek fusial engines give the Xuvva both the firepower and speed needed to protect any system. Similar to the TIE/ln starfighter, purchasers of the Xuvva will need to supply their own life-support systems and hyperspace combatable carrier ships to transport their purchase to their home system."

The Xuvva-class light starfighter is a design of "Ugly" fighter by the Hutt Cuul'ti kajidic. Following a battle between the Empire and New Republic forces, a massive amount of starfighter debris was reclaimed by CMS scrap-haulers. CMS has been recombining these destroyed ships into various "Uglies" for the past few years. Aside from known Ugly-style ships like the X-TIE, TIE-wing, and Y-TIE, CMS has created several unique variants that have interesting properties. The Xuvva is the latest, and perhaps strangest, design yet. Xuvvas mate the remains of a TIE's ball cockpit with an E-wing fuselage and the secondary wings off of a K-wing. The E-wing's twin engines are then placed on the end of the K-wing wings, using the landing struts as both additional structural reinforcement and light armor. The Xuvva has light shields and little armor, making it similar to other ships like the TIE/ln and M-3A Scyk fighters in terms of durability and survivability. Due to the lack of hyperdrive, Xuvvas require a carrier ship or base from which to launch, though their E-wing derived engine does make them fairly fast and maneuverable- an advantage for pirates or even planetary security forces. Overall, the design is strange and most likely temperamental due to the odd interfacing of three separate starfighter systems. New Republic Intelligence does not rate this design as a major threat or one likely to see many repeated chassis- it is most likely a limited design that takes advantage of specific salvage and falls into a classification similar to an older TIE/ln or Z-95 in terms of danger.

New Republic Intelligence brief

WIP of my Scrapyard Scum Millennium Falcon. Still needs a lot of cleanup/rusting down, but I'm bushed for the night after blocking out all the colors and throwing some wash around. Thanks for looking!

Looking forward to a game tomorrow, bringing a list I've wanted to play for a while. Torkil and the boys going to show off for the Scrapyard Scum!

May de moldy Force be with you!

I love the Kihraxz, I wish it would be more played!

That's basically why I'm trying this squad. The Kihraxz is my favorite Scum ship (slightly odd since I never played Galaxies) and I always want to use it. Glad someone found a decent list to go with them.

Finished up my scum Falcon. I'm pleased with it for now, might eventually go back and do some more work, but I'm happy. I believe all I have left to paint right now is a Sith Infiltrator, Hyena bomber, and my Xuvva Ugly fighter. Thanks for looking!

Next project in progress. Thanks @Kieransi for the idea. Going totry to give it a different look, probably converted into the Cuul'ti kajidic head of security's personal gunboat.

That just sounds like a YV-666 with extra steps.

What a hunk of junk!

A final post for 2019. Been a great year for me for X-wing; went to my first Hyperspace Trial and first System Open, got into a good local league that gives me some fun games every month, and nearly finished painting all my Scum/Separatist ships.

So, for my final post I'll leave with my latest acquisition- a C-ROC to get my Scum/CIS into the Epic world. Decided that it needed to be a carrier, just for fun, so it has four camouflaged docking clamps built into decoy cargo containers. Looking forward to painting this with my new airbrush and also finishing painting my modified YV-666. Hope everyone's holidays were good, happy flying in the new year! OgvAg34.jpg
