Thanks!
Been watching GMM a lot lately, great to paint with. Deicided to take the pic today when I was watching the show and had my X-wing stuff out. It was a super-funny episode, especially since my own was only three months ago.
Thanks!

When I see those guys, my mind always goes straight to this.
I now return you to your usual programming.

Bad miniature paint job: rub bacon on it!
Speaking of rubbing some (bacon) grease on it, here's my new scrapyard Protectorate starfighter. First pic is it with its factory new twin, who will be painted soon.
I wanted this fighter to have both a rusted and tarnished look (or like someone just cooked a ton of bacon on the ship), rather than my normal rusted/grimy. I think it worked fairly well.
The current Scrapyard Scum fleet. Sponsored by Brejja the Hutt, head of the Cuul'ti kajidic, a minor member of the Hutt Cartel operating out of Nar Shaddaa. These scum are the enforcers and "reclaimation agents" of the Security division of the Cuul'ti Merchant Services, the kajidic's legal business corporation.
Kimogila, Kihraxz, and Protectorate fighters still need painting, trying to figure out it what I want to do with them.

What an awesome paint scheme. The Z95s are my favorites, especially the Nasthah Pup. I actually said "Wow" out loud when I saw it.

...so you'll be flying Imperials in 2nd edition?

Actually, yes. Imperials were my first fleet and still remain one that I love, but I'm improving/expanding my Scum to keep them more or less level. Besides, I don't really paint my Imperials, aside from a crimson Decimator, as I happen to like the standard paint jobs. So while my Scum is varied and has a unique backstory, my Imperial forces are the faceless minions of the Emperor's will.
I am getting rid of my Rebels though, I really just bought them for the cards in 1.0 and never really flew them.
Got some more done last night. First up are three Kihraxz fighters. The middle one was alrady done, the one on the left is brand new and painted similar to my first Protectorate fighter while the one on the right was previously painted with a blue wash over silver. I didn't like how the blue came out, so doing a simple brown-washed gold worked out better. Next up is my "Blooddrop" Protectorate fighter, a very simple paintjob designed to look like blood droplets on a knifeblade.
Do you think you'll revisit that silver Kimogila? It looks like it may need some blood droplets too, maybe.

Its my only unpainted ship right now- unpainted because I typically paint all my ships with the steel color as a sort of primer/helps me see the ship in kind of a "plain" mode. I'm not certain on what to do with it; I like the ship the more I look at it but don't have a real thought of what to paint it. Blood drops are an option, so is making it as dirty as the Scyks, or even something in a steel/crimson paint scheme with more of an actual paint rather than blood feel.
Final ship for now, though I have a Jumpmaster coming this weekend. Kimogila heavy fighter, done in bronze and crimson which the wife wanted. Didn't put as much grime on it because I think that this is a higher class of scum working for Brejja the Hutt.
I think I might turn these colors into the main paint scheme for the Cuul'ti Merchant Services. So going forward bronze and crimson may become the prime colors for any ship that is legally employed by CMS, either in the Trade or Security Divisions; Any ship that is either independently owned by a private contractor, not "officially" on the books as CMS property, or has been seconded to CMS from the kajidic will have other various schemes. Thoughts?
Just got in a Jumpmaster 5000, another HWK, a Scurrg H-1, and am waiting for a Quadjumper, third M3-A, and a second Kimogila to arrive. So quite a few repaints coming up shortly. Jumpmaster, HWK, and Quadjumper will be in CMS crimson and bronze, with the others getting various scummie paints.
In the meantime, here's a converted TIE Shuttle that I finally got around to building (it had been sitting in pieces for six months) before ot gets a new coat of paint more appropriate to carrying VIPs.
Back on night shift finally, so I'll be getting more painting done. Still have a lot of my CMS Scrapyard Scum to finish, getting motivated with 2.0 coming up soon, but I wanted to post up a quick WIP of my HWK-290. I did a quick wing/turret mod and kinda like it.

Still slogging through repaints, but I grabbed a 2.o core set and realized I had a couple of X-wings and extra TIE fighters that I wouldn't ever use. So I made some Uglies, specifically X-TIEs and Chir'daki (Deathseeds). They still need painting, probably going to do a khaki/desert scheme for the Chir'daki and super rusy for the X-TIEs, but they were fun/easy to make and I'm working on some stats for casual play.
Look out!! There's a giant space owl behind you!!!
Painted the Uglies, both the X-TIEs and Chir'daki. Flash on my phone made the Chir'daki look pretty yellow compared to the real khaki color. Will take some better pics later, and will be finalizing the stats for X-Wing.
Finished painting my X-TIEs and Chir'Daki, and wrote up some stats for them. Comments always welcome, thanks for looking!

Also, my WIP CMS Scum are on the board for getting finished.
Some of the CMS Scum have been finished- the M3-A, HWK, and Quadjumper. Cockpits will be done the same as the Kimogila above, but all at once with the remainder of the CMS stuff. Next are my final, for now, CMS ships; Scurrg bomber and Jumpmaster, which are taking more time than originally planned. Also, a green, freelancer Kimogila. Thanks for looking!
After the Scurrg, Jumpmaster, and Kimogila, I'm out of ships to paint... Any ideas of a fun ship to paint?
Heresy!
Quick text update- I'm slowly working on the last three (Scurrg, Jumpmaster, Kimogila), which has been super slow due to lack of motivation and being actually busy at work, but I also recently bought two used Y-wings so I have some more Uglies coming up. Specifically, I will be making two Y-TIEs (Y-wing body w/TIE panels) and two TIE-wings (TIE cockpit with Y-wing nacelles). I will also be writing up some rules for these abominations, much like I did with the previous Uglies, for possible casual/HoAC play.
Managed to finish up building the second set of Uglies tonight, so I present a pair each of TYE-wings and Y-TIEs. These will be painted up shortly, when I have some time- I'm actually playing 2.0 X-wing now so that's fun but takes away painting time.
Caught the Ugly making bug. Decided to rip apart a K-wing and a TIE fo, because I'm not going to play either Rebels or FO. I also have another couple of TIE fo and an A/E-wing, so I'll be ripping those apart too and making some truly repulsive flying battlefield scrap. This is something I'm thinking of calling either a TIE-K or K-TIE.
