Why isn't On the Boat also called Shipping? Aren't the books on a Ship therefore all of them are Shipping Now! ;)

Wednesday’s? More like “when’s da h*** they feel like it.”

Not that the Oracle needs to appeal to an outside authority, nor am I an authority, but I can say that I've also noticed what Absol just said about days to announce shipping and in stores now is true

I know. Just making light of the situation and venting at the same time.

No that was not all you could do. You respond with the template. Then you kick it upstairs. Not kicking it upstairs in a word is stupid.

“Upstairs” already knew. “Kicking it upstairs” would have, in no way, sped up a solution. Templates like that generally come about specifically because “upstairs” is aware of an issue, but no firm answer is available to be given.

Hmm. Interesting. Based on the new article that just posted , FFG is giving a firm release date of April 5 for Disciples of the Void, the new card pack for the L5R Card Game. That means, using standard shipping times, it needs to change to Shipping Now on March 21 to make it. However, that product is currently listed as being At the Printer , meaning they're expecting it to get from the printer, to the boats, and to their warehouse in basically a week.

If they're saying that, it's guaranteed to have been printed in America, but I'll be curious to see. Will they release that before they release any of our new books? I hope not. And if they can give a firm release date to something that's At the Printer , what other firm release dates are currently set of which we haven't been informed? This could indicate that our prodigal books do have release dates set, but we simply aren't aware of them...

Ghosts of Dathomir has been At the Printer for at least 6 weeks, which if correct is patently ridiculous. Maybe it was ready to be printed on Feb 1st and the agreement with the printer is to deliver between now and the end of the month or something, but a book - even a hardbound book - should not take 6 weeks to print unless a problem occurs. I’m taking the different statuses with a grain of salt, certainly the ones that are not updated for a suspiciously long period.

edit: given that it’s a reprint, the chances of a problem occuring at the printer are even smaller too

Fully Operational was at the Printer for longer. More like 3 months I believe. And in development for something like 6 months. And now on the boat for 3 months... So yeah. It has been all messed up for over a year.

In regards to ghosts... Perhaps they are awaiting the original print run to be released rather than do a third print run ... of course that is all hypothesis since we don't even know if the original was held up or lost or ruined or.....

There have been too many rumours and guesses that were taken as fact in the past year and a half.

Got the Fully Operational pre-order confirmation that it will ship soon.

The last word use you used "soon", still leaves doubt on when it really be out.

Whats the saying time is relative.

I received the same email for Dawn of Rebellion and was the first person to receive a copy on the forums. It shipped within a week and a half from the email to my house.

Dammit, Khaz, you're feeding into my "one more week" cycle >_< !

:P

If the books are being delivered by TARDIS, that REALLY explains why they haven't gotten here yet.

So Khaz, have you preordered either of the other two upcoming books? If this keeps up, you could be our Official Forum Early Alert System TM !

I have, and I have to be honest here, I’m not 100% positive that it’s FO... it could be either of the other two as it only says “a product you ordered.” And I haven’t been able to ascertain the order other than the amount, which is always screwy because of the International Shipping costs.

Ah. Well, if it's not FO, the local Engineers will riot more than...um...something that riots a lot :D ! But I can't imagine why it wouldn't be.

Engineers never riot. It is just sometimes they cannot figure out what glitch is causing the machines to run amok...

PROTIP: Never piss off the IT Department

I know this isn't super-relevant, but the Dawn of Rebellion book just arrived at my mailbox today. That means it's out in Sweden.

Never get Timelords to deliver anything.

Last time I did, I didn't receive my package until three years AFTER I ordered.

And from what I heard, I was one of the lucky ones.

I've seen waaaaaay too much Swedish Porn to take that sentence at face value.

Could be worse. You could have gotten it three years before you ordered it, rupturing the Space/Time continuum. Poor old @Absol197 's spreadsheet couldn't handle that.

Another Engineer has confirmed also receiving the email so we can be confident this is FO.

That would put FO's street date at 3/29, right? If Khazadune got DoR the weekend before its release date, and got the email a week and a half before, the first Thursday after a week and a half from now would be 3/29.

The "Shipping Now" updates for the 3/1 didn't go up until the Friday 13 days before. Nothing has been updated on the Upcoming page yet for this week, so that sounds totally reasonable. That's kind of what I'm betting on.

I'm testing this theory by preordering the books individually.

Well, the distributor's website at my FLGS did say 31 March. /fingerscrossed
