Hey did things change for fully operational? Reddit has it as out now? And ffg is allowing preordering...

If it were out, it wouldn’t be a pre order. ;)

The FFG pre-order option is definitely new for that. For whatever reason, it didn't have a preorder button before.

For Cyphers and Masks ...I'm gonna have to pass. I'm pretty sure one of the articles mentioned at least one of the species, though.

The species in Cyphers and Masks are Balosar, Kubaz, and Melitto.

Apologies if this has been mentioned, but the information for Dawn of the Rebellion on the OP currently does not match FFG's product page.

FFG has Dawn of the Rebellion as "Shipping" with an estimated release date of 22 Feb.

The other 3 books are still accurate.

Well, I can run through what we know (and what we can assume) for you real quick!

We know that at least, Dawn of Rebellion is going to include gigorans, the white, wookiee-looking things from Rogue One. And if they didn't include lasat, I'll...do something scandalous, I'm sure :P .

For Fully Operational , they told us all three species during the preview articles: bith, kaminoans, and skakoans. The first two I'm sure you know; the last, in case you need a reference, is the green-skinned guy with the giant metal thing around his mouth in Attack of the Clones who tells Dooku "The Techno Union Army is at your disposal, Count."

For Cyphers and Masks ...I'm gonna have to pass. I'm pretty sure one of the articles mentioned at least one of the species, though.

And for Unlimited Power , while we don't have official word yet, from what's said in the announcement article, we can be fairly sure that at least tholothians and thisspiasians are included. These species and their homeworlds, culture, and technology are all mentioned in the announcement article, and many of the new gear items included are related to these species, making them very strong likelihoods. The third likely candidate is the vurk.

How's that for ya :) ? Hopefully that's helpful!

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was tracking (including your guesses on the Unlimited Power species based on gear).

Melitto and Balosar were previewed for Cyphers and Masks, but I'm guessing Kubaz for the third based on artwork.

That still leaves 3 complete unknowns for Dawn of Rebellion, 1 total guess for Cyphers and Masks, and 3 likely guess that need confirmed for Unlimited Power.

Kubaz is more than a guess based on artwork (and appropriateness for the book). When the Balosar article was first posted, it was put up with incorrect art assets, including one whose style and file name made it clear that it was the species profile image for Kubaz. The article was later edited.

Okay. So just 6 question marks then, which could be answered by 2 decent preview articles...just saying FFG.

Hey! Hey now! Hold yer horses :P ! As much as it may not seem like it, I do need to, you know, work during the day. I'll fix it tonight :) . Along with the predicted release dates for Operational and Cyphers .

My apologies.

My apologies.

It's no trouble :) . If I was upset, I wouldn't have been using emoticons!

In other news!:

Okay, don't get me wrong here: I'm SUPER happy that books are finally moving and we'll see new material by the end of the month. SUPER, SUPER happy about that!

BUT...

If we don't get an announcement of a new book today, we will officially broken the record for the longest time between new book announcements. Monday will be day 143, and the record is 142, set in the time between the Edge of the Empire Core Rulebook and Beyond the Rim . The record that has stood since time itself (or at least Narrative Dice System Star Wars) began!

I'm really hoping we get a new book today. And for Shlam's sake (and sanity), I hope it's the Warrior book...

Interesting note: today’s Star Wars Legion article says that Legion and eight expansions release March 22. The Legion core set and 8 expansions went on the boat at the same time as the RPG books, so is presumably on the same boat. If they’re holding all the Legion stuff for six weeks, they’re probably going to ship everything else before then. Sound reasonable?

Should we be worried that none of the other 3 books received that mini update that only changes the last updated date? Does that foretell of further delays for the other books since Dawn has been getting special treatment, or I am just reading stuff that's not there.

No; despite recent evidence showing that pseudo-updates might not always be meaningless, they are also most certainly not REQUIRED for books to change status. We didn't get a mini-update before Ghosts of Dathomir finally started shipping, as I recall. It just did, and we were shocked. Shocked I tell you! Shocked :o !

I wouldn't read too much into Legion - they are planning a huge launch with tons of product available globally. Typos and corrections in articles also indicate they moved the date at least once (from a planned 3/8 to 3/22). The Legion stuff is also unlikely to be coming from the same factory as the bound books for the RPG.

It shows the same "On the Boat" date because that's when somebody bothered to update the website, not because it's on the same boat. They updated a several other products to "On the Boat" on the same day, including Armada Wave 7 which has already released.

There you go again assuming I was ever Sane. Sheesh.

Of an interesting note... DOR got a new update today. It's still shipping but it says it was updated 2.9.18

Maybe they meant it for FO? Please please please!!!!!!!

Added the last paragraph

Warriors.... come out and plaaaaay!

knights of fate

Oh yeah, come to papa...

WOOO!!!

Okay, after my initial calculations, the tentative initial release date prediction is July 12, 2018. That's going to change a little coming up here soon, but hopefully not by much.

And also hopefully, we're past all of the ridiculous delays and other nonsense, and this one will actually get to move closer as time goes on!

Oh, and once more: WOOO!!!

EDIT: I'll update the first post in a little bit. I also notice that the product page for this book is already up (before it was taking a month or two to appear), which is interesting.

Your tentative date guess is my birthday, so if it doesn't come out then, you'll be personally responsible for ruining my special day :P

Well, too bad! I'm going to ruin it by (maybe) having it come out before your birthday! So there :P !

I suppose that would be acceptable...

On another note...I miss the good ol' days of The Book Pattern (Adventure-Career-Location-Career-etc)...would have been nice to hold that all the way through to the end for all 3 lines.

Well, that'll be too late for my sister for this year; but she's got enough to spend XP on to get her through another rotation.

I'm just relieved that it's been announced; now I can relax.

And actually, running the initial calculation again factoring in the assumed released dates of the four upcoming books, that actually puts the initial prediction at July 26, 2018.

However, keep in mind that the initial predictions are intended to be too far out into the future, so that as the book progresses through the development steps, it can be moved closer. For the past couple of books that hasn't happened, but hopefully it might this time :) . If we get a tie for fastest book produced, it could be as early as May 17!
