so at this point its pretty well a given that we are not seeing any of the books before the new year right?

Mostly, but we have a slight chance. The vast majority of books are announced between the 1st and the 16th of the month, and of the previous 6 books, five were announced on Fridays. Since this Friday is the 15th, we could see another book announced on Friday.

However, if we don't, we're almost guaranteed to be waiting until 2018 to get a new announcement :( .

At this point I'm just pretending the game is dead so I can be pleasantly surprised when things start releasing on a semi-regular schedule again. Save's a lot a pain and heartache...I'm a very sad and jaded person now I think about it.

This is, unfortunately, not an unreasonable approach. There have been only three book releases this year. That's the lowest number in the history of the product line, and the number of new announcements is, unless we get one this Friday, also the lowest ever.

In fact, if I'm right that we won't see any of the upcoming books before late February, we will be able to measure a year where there were only two releases, as No Disintegrations came out on February 2, so going past it means looking back 365.2425 days means we'll only see Disciples of Harmony and Ghosts of Dathomir released. Four-and-a-half months apart.

So being jaded is not unreasonable. I myself try to fight the creeping, crusty film of jaded-ness, but it's hard at times.

But the night is darkest just before the dawn! And I promise you, the dawn is coming!</harveydent>

EDIT: However, I have found a tiny sliver of hope for those Warriors out there! This Friday is the release of the newest Star Wars movie. Kylo Ren is very clearly a Warrior himself. Last time a Star Wars Saga chapter came out, we had the release of Keeping the Peace the day before.

Now obviously there's no way to release a book in concurrence with this movie, but you know what they could do? They could announce the book for the career one of the major new characters is a member of! It's even possible they were holding it back just for that occasion.

And, if Rey is considered a Mystic (not sure how I'd feel about that, but...), that could be why they're delaying the first Unlimited Power article, too. Obviously this is just conjecture, but it could possible be accurate conjecture! So, you know. Hold on to hope!

Well, today's Upcoming page update has already happened, and none of the new books moved forwards. Figures.

Maybe tomorrow when the new releases happen...

It's no trouble :) . I'm doing it anyway because, you know, crazy, so I'm more than happy to share with you guys!

I'm also hoping that our third Dawn preview article shows up soon. Maybe this upcoming Monday...

I have a bad feeling about announcements this weekend, if it's not Sequel trilogy related it likely wont make it to the news page,

So no Warrior announcement. For the year likely because the week after leads into Christmas.

Feelsbadman.

Bleh. No production updates from today's update. We're well above the average printing time :( . Hopefully we get our announcement tomorrow. For Shlam's sake.

When entering the back half of December, I always assume drops in productivity, regardless of what company I'm talking about.

I want to work where all these people work.

A friend of mine works for a major computer company. They’re closed the last two weeks of the year (with pay). I’ve got him keeping an eye out for open positions that I’d be a good fit for.

We usually have all of the product for Christmas out the door by the middle of November; and for the next month and a half, this place is like a ghost town. I still have to come in; but since there's almost nobody around to break anything, I don't end up doing a whole lot of work.

It’s our slow time of year, too, because we deal with educational technology. But I’m still conducting new hire training, so I’m booked all day long.

I'm holding out hope. Holding on to hope for today...

It's ten days until Christmas, and a new Star Wars movie is out. I'd be surprised if most or all of FFG isn't in a theater today.

My Friday night EotE group isn't gaming tonight because one guy's whole company is going to see Last Jedi tonight as part of their holiday festivities.

Sounds fun. Considering either going today or tomorrow for the movie myself.

As for the announcements, I'm also waiting to see if anything pops up today.

They've already posted two new articles today, including one that's a new product announcement, so it's not impossible. As I said before, today is probably one of the best days to get new people into the RPG, as once they see the movie, they'll be itching to tell their own Star Wars stories. And what better thing to do than let them know that soon they'll be able to play a character based off their favorite villain ( / anti-hero? Haven't seen the new movie yet, so I'm not sure which category he falls into), Kylo Ren?

It seems like the logical play to me, and a possible reason they've been holding off on a new announcement. I mean, my friend has been writing articles. He's been canceling appointments because of deadlines, and from what I can tell they don't have him start writing until the book is mostly ready to be announced, so...there must be a reason they're delaying.

And like with May 4, I can't think of a better reason to delay around this time of year.

Lucky them :) Back in the 90s my coworkers went to see Phantom Menace en masse. The stunned silence on departure said it all...

Wow, seriously? They're just gonna let this year that is demonstrably the worst since Edge was first announced end in a low note like this?

...I know, I know, new stuff is coming, I'm sure they have a reason. But it sucks :( .

I had sensed it Prophet and the will of the force was not with my book. I will await for it in January hopefully my birth month will fare better.

Well, the "good" news is that it is now Monday again, meaning there's the chance of a new article for Unlimited Power . Not that I'm holding my breath. But if they were waiting for the new movie so they could steal a quote from it for the article opener...maybe?

*Warning, my cheap joke contains spoilers from The Last Jedi*

I think

"A page-turner, this book is not"

would be a terrible way to start a promotional article; but I'm just a technician, and not very knowledgeable of such things.

... and there was no rejoicing. :(

They posted an Android article today, so hope is not lost!
