But I've discovered another dreaded feature of the coast: humidity! I am not a fish, why do people think I can breathe water if they hide it in the air :P ?

At least it's autumn. Add triple digit temperatures and it gets WAY worse.

That is why we Floridians invented Air conditioners! You just don't go outside in Florida not unless you like to sweat.

Actually air conditioners were invented in Buffalo New York if I recall correctly, Yankee inguinuity helping the world.

The general Idea was created first here because it was hotter down in Florida friend! There is a reason we have a statue of the guy up in a Washington DC Carrier made it what it is now yes but the original isn't no Yankee invention but a man from the Caribbean! Carrier perfected it because technology got better over time!

You seriously consider hanging a block of ice in a room to be air conditioning? Here's the guy who invented real air conditioning (the type you plug into an electrical socket or is built into a house or cars)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willis_Carrier

And it happened in Buffalo NY.

And I'm certain gorrie wasn't the first to think of using ice to cool things

He was athe least a couple of millenia late to the party with that idea.

As Obi wan would say it "It's air conditioning from a certain point of view!" It may not be as sophisticated as your 70 or so years younger device but it did the Job until the Yanks made a better device.

Now let's get back Books and Numbers instead of this Air conditioned tangent.

So @Absol197 how likely is it that the Mystic book was the last for the year? I know the patterns suggest 6 books a year but my Luck being horrendous on anything but physical D20 I'm thinking this year may break from pattern on the low end just because Warrior is next and I want it.

I'd say unlikely. We've gone two months without an announcement, and it's rare to go three or more. Combined with the fact that we're at fewer announcements than average, and the likelihood points to one more book this year.

Whether that'll be the Warrior or not I can't say, but they are clearly focusing on career books first, if the existence of an unannounced (likely Region book) in all three lines is anything to go by.

So there is hope then! Warrior books are built on hope! Or was that rebellions?

I'm making a tentative guess for the next book announcement to be on Friday, December 8.

As mentioned previously, we're seeing a huge swath of books announced on Fridays. We've also not seen an announcement on the 1st of a month, so this Friday is unlikely. But the most popular time to announce is between the 6th and the 10th, and Friday the 8th fits nicely into that slot.

So...we'll see! What'll it be? Well, for the sake of Shlam's sanity I'm hoping for the Warrior book, but there's a chance of it being the next long-delayed Region book, possibly SWE15.

I wonder if there is a method behind the madness, or if it's all just random.

I mean, do they actually have a policy of announcing new books between the 6th and 10th and not on the 1st?

And other statistical things like that that fascinates me.

I seriously doubt it's purposeful, hence the reason we get the rare book announced at the end of the month.

I do, however, think the trend is a consequence of some of their policies. For instance, if they require that a writer turn in their draft of the announcement article by the 20th of a month, say, and then their in-house editors have two weeks to review and tweak it and add art, and then it takes a week for it to get the thumbs-up from the Big Mouse, that gets us there with regularity despite it not being "official." Slight variations in that would account for why is not always the exact same day, but give a mostly-predictable range.

That's my guess.

No it doesn't! It merely assumes your Sanity score is not 0. A Sanity below 10 is still not sane :P . My D&D-ability-score-based arguments are infallible! True story!

Very Good, but is this stat determined by 3d6 if so your sanity is quite average! ;)

You have to be somewhat insane to be a good oracle. It's in the contract!

Right along with the clause about constantly burning incense and speaking in multiple voices at the same time.

Eh, I managed to get them to nix the incense clause when I signed up :P . I kept the We-Are-Legion voice because I thought it was cool.

I'm not allowed to use it unless it's for official oracle business, though. Which stinks :( .

Well it's best not to abuse it or else no one knows when you're serious!

Imagine if Galadriel Talked with that voice all the time

You'd never know what is happening.

That's how I always imagine our beloved oracle talking about FFG release dates and probabilities of announcements.

Well good, because that's exactly how I sound when making them :P !

I get a lot of weird looks at work, but it's totally worth it!
