I doubt it. The Lucasfilm people include folks that wrote & played the WEG Star Wars; they know that RPGs require kinds of material that haven't been mentioned, described, or even defined yet for the sequel era. The movies go first, so they aren't going to define something in an RPG book and tell JJ Abrams, "sorry, that plot point won't work because of Detail X from RPG Book N". And they don't want to have the movie disregard stuff that was just published. The solution is to simply not define stuff until after the movies are done; hence, I don't think we'll see much more than the what was in the Force Awakens beginner game until episode IX is in theaters, and Lucasfilm has mapped out their post-trilogy plans.

Now, the immediate post-RotJ era is a possibility; that might not affect episode IX, depending on how much of Luke's story XIII reveals, and the novels have covered it a fair amount, between Aftermath & Bloodlines.

Besides post-RotJ and the Clone Wars, there's also four years of war between A New Hope and Return of the Jedi to cover. Based on the stories in the comics, though, that era might be reserved for the comics to explore.

Maybe they'll let FFG work with the SWTOR folks, and do some stuff in the SWTOR era.

Hmm, movies are a priority, more likely to contradict something published. Which has happened and I'm sure will happen more.

X-Wing has ships we have yet to see in FTA era movies or are made up by FF team.

WEG was famous for creating new material. I found it all very excellent but that might be me looking back with rose colored.

Guessing the next movie will reveal a lot of Luke's past, perhaps enough to allow an Aftermath setting. You can join the new Jedi temple but the Knights of Ren will kill you or you can go Grey. :D

Not disagreeing with you actually just theorizing. I can't help it as a SW super fan. :D

WEG had the benefit of no new movies being planned for the duration of the license (they went under in 1999). They had carte blanche to build the world for LFL. With the franchise back in active, regular production, then yeah, the movies will take priority.

Personally, I’d compare the sequel era’s current status to that of the Clone Wars era back when WEG had the license and the EU began: off limits because it was a story intended to be established on the screen (if at all).

Okay, it's update day, so hopefully we'll see some books move to On the Boat and see Dawn finally change to At the Printer .

I have refreshed the news page about 1,000 times since Absol said we are due for a book announcement.

In other news the Upcoming page has not updated on the RPG side.

Shlam, I said it would likely update in the middle of NEXT week, not this one O_O . Don't burn yourself out!

Also, I too noticed that the Upcoming page hadn't changed, even though new products were released today. They did this a couple of weeks ago, too. A new pattern might be emerging where they only update the Upcoming page every other week...

But if I stop someone will find the article before me and post, being a slow typer I need to notice it almost immediately. ;)

Just deal with it :P ! I check the News and Upcoming pages about every five to ten minutes during the day, and around 95% of updates are noticed by others, and they post here before I realize it's happened. So you'll just have to accept that you'll probably not be the first to notice.

Heck, when Unlimited Power (!!!!) was announced, they'd created the thread for it and we'd had around five posts in my own thread by the time I noticed!

So with the announcements of a new trilogy, involving an "unexplored quarter", and a TV show, there's definitely going to be more fodder for more games! We just might have to wait a bit to see 'em.

No my Precious I must discovers it!!

I know I probably won't but I would love to do so.

So learn to program and write a bot that continuously checks for certain new content and then will post a prewritten generic message, you can go back and edit it later with relevant details.

I hate programming though so while I could do this, I won't because of how tedious I find the process of coding to be.

One of the many articles discussing this, The House of Mouse loved Rian and they want him to make a trilogy.

Im hoping they go old Republic so we can get some role play material on that era, maybe some ships in X-wing minis too.

Is it any more tedious than manually clicking refresh waiting for ffg news to show up? ?

EDIT: The devil smiley was meant to imply "devil's advocate" and I was not being serious with the original suggestion even though it is hypothetically feasible if getting the first to break the news post is really that important to you

Problem is that IF he was to do that and program a bot to search AND post then HE wouldn't actually be the one to see and post the news... it would be his bot! So all the effort of programming would be for not since his goal is to be the first to see and post.

But since the post was coming his account he'd still get credit for it in the eyes of the forum which I think is what he'says after, or he could have the bot text him a link to the article and a new post on the forums, when his smartphone (assuming he has a smartphone) beeps with the special ring tone he set when he gets the text he'd still in all likelihood be the first to post. All of this is hypothetical of course. You can send an email to a phone as a text, so you don't need to pay for a separate phone line to pool this off.

Or you can constantly refresh the page as I have been!

I'm really hoping that we'll get a new book announcement this week. I've got that tingle in my montrals that says something's coming...

Well I can tell you that there have been 11 announcements since I started refreshing the page 6 of which have been Star Wars related 4 are X-Wing specific and none have been the RPG.
