They must be in a Hanjin ship....
Trends, Statistics, and Predictions!
I noticed that the forums show how many posts each one has.
After some research I discovered the following:
(As of the end of October 2017.)
The Edge of the Empire forums:
Over 224,000 posts in the 58 months since the release of the Beginner Game (December 2012). That's about 129 posts per day.
The Age of Rebellion forums:
Over 29,000 posts in the 41 months since its Beginner Game (April 2014). That's about 24 posts per day.
The Force & Destiny forums:
Over 60,000 posts in the 28 months since its Beginner Game (June 2015). That's about 72 posts per day.
Now, EotE had tons of rule questions, and is the only forum with a GM subforum.
F&D has tons of Force-related rules questions.
Are these the reasons that they far surpass AoR in posts?
Hmmm....

I think people have decided that the EotE forum is the appropriate place for general Star Wars RPG discussion. If there's a topic that doesn't specifically fit any of the three, or could fit within all of them, it usually winds up in EotE. I think some people also just mostly post there because it has the most traffic, which keeps feeding into the expectation that the EotE is the default forum.

I think that dedicated FaD games are more popular than dedicated AoR ones, so that is why FaD gets more than AoR. (Also, the Force is complicated) As for why EotE gets so much, I would point to the fact that plenty of questions which are CLEARLY about an AoR or FaD game end up here. People don’t want to bother moving. Also, anything general ends up here because EotE came first. And the GM subforum helps as well.
WOOHOO!!!
Genesys is now On the Boat ! And guess what? Fully Operational , Cyphers and Masks , and UNLIMITED POWER(!!!) are all At the Printer !
I'm freaking out, man! Calculations and predictions to come...
EDIT: Okay, so, since they all went to the printer at the same time, there's some trouble in distinguishing them. Nominally they would all move together and release on the same day, but I don't think that FFG would want to do that, so I'm going to stagger my predictions, one book per week from the initial prediction date. So what's that date?
Well, mean 34.14 days At the Printer , 64.22 On the Boat , and 15.91 Shipping Now adds up to 114.27. Rounding to the nearest Thursday, that puts our first book out, potentially, on February 22! I'm going to assume they release in the order they were announced, so that's:
Fully Operational : February 22, 2018;
Cyphers and Masks : March 1, 2018;
Unlimited Power : March 8, 2018.
That final date is startlingly close to my birthday. That would be an extraordinary coincidence, wouldn't it?
Or would it
...?
There are no coincidences, there is only the Force.
On another note, yes Genysis!!! I've been waiting for that one. Been thinking I might use the system to make an Agents of Shield setting for my group....

It's obviously not connected to awesomeness; extrapolating from EotE's 1/4 M entries, AoR might have about 100 k, FaD, don't know, about 12.

I thought I remembered FFG promising for Quarter 4 of this year.
Am I wrong?
Or is FFG just being FFG?

This pleases me.

It's probably FFG mixing up the old business adage of underpromise and overperform

Good...Goooooood, my Warrior announcement quickly approches.
Okay, now that some of our wayward books have begun to work their way through the development process, I'm beginning to look forward to the next announcement. The mean time between announcements so far (not including the current wait) has been 55.19 days, with a standard deviation of 37.25 days. Currently, we're at 46 days from
Unlimited Power
(!!!) being announced, so we're approaching the average. Technically we could go into December without exceeding the standard range, but that's no fun, right
?
So, what's it looking like? Well, with the exception of 2015, which was the Star Wars RPG equivalent of the Renaissance with 9 total announcements, every year has had 6 new products announced. So far in 2017, we've only had 5. Meaning we should expect an announcement in November or December. There's not much data to suggest whether the announcement will be this month or next, but it should be coming up soon!
My guess is we'll see it in the middle of next week. Here's hoping!
@Absol197 So... what do you think it'll be? Warrior book? Adventure? Era? Something else entirely?
Edited by jayc007Well, the obvious answer is our last career book, Shlambate's Warrior. However, I do note that it's been quite some time (600 days, in fact!) since the release of the most recent Region book, so it may be time for a new one to be announced. For Shlam's sake I hope they finish up with the careers before they return to other things, but I can't deny that there's a high likelihood for it.
Also, another Era book is now a possibility, although I think the fact that they didn't move Dawn to the printer with the recent shift, even though it was announced before Unlimited Power (!!!) says that they're waiting a bit on more era supplements. But if it was an Era book, what would it be? A lot of people are saying Clone Wars, which I admit would be neat, but I'm actually curious about the tween-age period. You know, the period between the OT and the ST.
The first Era book announced was the original tween-age period, who's to say the second won't be the other tween-age period
?
I think that Star Wars is just about mined out of crunchy stuff.
The starships and starfighters from the movies that we are still missing (Naboo Starfighter, Venator-class Destroyer, Executor-class Dreadnaught) will be included in the last four career books.
Dawn of Rebellion will have information on the planets that appeared in Rogue One and the Rebels series which will include Tattooine, Ryloth, Coruscant and maybe also Dathomir and Korriban.
FFG can still make two Era sourcebooks without rehashing Saga stuff or dipping deeply into Legends stuff. The first book would cover next years Han Solo movie and the last season of Rebels and some obscure stuff from the latest novels and the leftovers that wasn't included in the last career books. This book would be published in 2019. The book after that would cover the sequel movie trilogy and be published in 2020.

I think we should interrgate him and get him to spill his beans about just what exactly he knows.
I' sure he has some interesting tidbits in there that he could divulge?

Too bad the spy book isn't out yet... we could use the tools and rules in there to get even more secretsout of him!

Pretty sure he playtested that one so he's wise to the tools and rules and would probably use them against you. To paraphrase Tolkien, "Meddle not in the affairs of pirates. For they are subtle and quick to anger."

You have my attention. I hope it does get announced, would the sale data give us any detail on which the would prefer to announce? I'm not sure if you track sales my prophet. If the class sourcebooks sell better like I think they might, I do believe it may be the warrior winning out.
And Yes it is my Warrior
, if you say we are due an announcement then I must glue myself to the news and wait till I can be the first to post A Warrior Topic!

We have no sales data
Yeah, companies treat sales as a private thing, and I have no way of getting it :/ . Sorry, I'd definitely use it if I could! Although I can pretty much guarantee that the Career books sells best, probably followed by Region books, with Adventures likely last.
My guess would be that the mouse would like them to start publishing stuff in TFA era.
