Trends, Statistics, and Predictions!

I noticed that, too. I also noticed that Fully Operational doesn't have one. Hopefully that means it's going to the printer soon.

Or, more likely, since Genesys is at the printer and it has a pre-order tag, it means that FO was announced before they started doing that and will not be getting one at all.

Now I just need to check something.

The comic store that I started getting my books from about a year ago let me know recently that Asmodee has changed distributors. The new one requires a minimum $400 order, and the store just doesn’t do that much business in Asmodee/FFG product right now.

So, with the manager’s blessing to “get ‘em where you need to get ‘em,” I need to see if the store closest to me that I know will still be getting them will let me reserve a copy. I’ve gotten spoiled by the comic store ordering one just for me, and I know that this store sold out of No Disintegrations on day one.

Grrrr...smaller stores are getting edged out of being able to provide for their customers. Or, for that matter, of being able to build a customer base for Asmodee’s products.

This probably explains why my FLGS is selling out their stock of SWRPG books....

Except that they're a 45 minute drive from me and their the closest one, so it's difficult to go grab what I need.

Oh, but they promised there would be no changes to how FFG products would be distributed when the merger was announced. Since then, changes are the only things we've seen - changes that make it even more difficult to get their books and make life harder for our own FLGSes.

Add to that we can't even get a straight answer from them regarding preorders made over 10 months ago... yeah.

I really liked how FFG used to operate in regards to merchandise distribution. I was ambivalent about the merger, but willing to see what happened. Unfortunately, it appears that the only thing that has routinely happened has been less availability and issues in distribution.

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't mind waiting for something. Adds to the excitement, I feel. But the fact that small stores are finding it harder to carry the books means that more of that sale will go online. And that's a shame.

I don't mind companies making money, that's how we get these nice books we all like so much. But a blatant shot at the little guys ticks me off.

Oh :( . My FLGS makes a killing off of FFG stuff, so I haven't noticed any disruptions.

Now I feel bad :( . I was planning on going there tonight, hopefully I can get together a list of available books for folks who need them for the exchange thread.

Yeah, the big stores (like the one I’ll probably be shifting my purchases back to) won’t even see a blip. If anything, they’ll see an upswing in sales, as the smaller stores go through their existing stock and can’t get anything new because they don’t move enough Asmodee product.*

The Comics/game store that one of the groups I’m in plays at might do just enough Asmodee/FFG business to keep the books coming in (thanks to X-Wing and, to a lesser extent, Armada), and our next session is scheduled for the Saturday after GoD is released. Several times, they’ve offered to hold stuff for us (the GM and another player are on excellent terms with the owner), but it’s a good 30 minute drive when the big store is only 5-10. If the big store will hold them for me, it will be much more convenient.

*(When telling me about the new requirements, he mentioned that he’s about got a big enough order to do one, but future orders will be at longer, irregular intervals. So, with that one last definite order, he’s going to get me the 30th anniversary set.)

Most of my books come from shady web-based sources...my game store is completely cleaned of all eote stock :(

BTW, just noticed that this thread is still alive! That makes 1+ years that this thing has been-dare I say it- Fully Operational! :b

I emailed customer service on a whim regarding the "q3" release date of Fully Operational, asking if they had an updated timeline as to its release date taking into account the fact that it hasn't even hit the printer yet.

I got a pretty standardised non answer in which they said "all the latest information for that product is on the page".

I wasn't expecting much beyond that but it's still disenheartening to hear it. Don't know what that does to help or hinder your numbers Absol but non answer can sometimes be useful too I guess.

According to the “upcoming” page, it looks like Ghosts has been pushed back a week as of today.

This coincides with my flgs stating that it wasn't on their invoice this week.

What, are you serious?!?!

This book is legitimately cursed. Come on, is there ANYTHING that won't go wrong with this one?

I wish I weren’t serious. I’ve had the storyline for my group’s River Tam-ish Nightsister who wants to find home on hold waiting for this one.

Mother Talzin is haunting it. I believe Occam's Razor dictates that is now the only viable explanation.

What’s wrong is that this isn’t the mystic book!

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement :) .

You just made it worse...now they'll push the Mystic book back, too!

I hope this adventure is good. I shudder to think of the reaction of people who have been waiting all this time for this adventure book and it turns out to be complete garbage.

Fixed that for you.

Don't even joke about that  !

I think it was right the first time :P !

Now, just to throw a wrench in things...Amazon has it listed with guaranteed delivery Friday if ordered within the next few hours. I went ahead and placed the order, and status shows that shipping should be today. We’ll see if I get a notification that it’s shipped later.

Yeah, the owner of my FLGS told me I should have it by today. I was assuming he meant tomorrow, as he never releases before street date, but still.

Of course, he told me that on Sunday, which was before the Upcoming page changed its final release date, so maybe things have changed since I last went in. I'll stop by tonight and see what the deal-eo is.

I keep impatiently rechecking the Amazon app to see if the order’s status has changed even though I haven’t gotten a notification.

That gap between “We’ve got your order” and “Expected to ship” seems like you could comfortably maneuver the Death Star through it. I’m supremely impatient about this now.
