Ghosts is probably on a Maersk ship somewhere, paralyzed by ransomware.
Either that, or it contains canon secrets that haven't been revealed officially yet, so it's embargoed by Lucasfilm until something comes out.
Maybe both.

Maybe Ghosts had a massive misprint. Surely it wasn't lost at sea.
That's my working theory; a massive mistake necessitated redoing the entire print run. Possibly including needing to find a new printer to do the work.

I wonder if it something different:
FFG has poured a ton of resources into two major new product lines: L5R Living Card game, and Runewars mini's game. Further, FFG has a major commitment to a limited release of L5R for GenCon for a large tournament.
So just have to wonder if Ghosts, and also Fully Operational, got bumped in the production order by L5R, and possibly the paper components of the Runewars mini's game (I suspect the plastic pieces are produced by a different vendor so this would not be an impact). FFG has finite resources, and their suppliers might too; so I wonder if their vendor's basically asked them "Which one do you want by the end of June? Because you can't have them both." Or perhaps Asmodee's CFO told FFG "There isn't financing for both by the end of June, so pick one."
Incidentally, I have also noticed recently that new books appear to get very small print runs; No Disintegration was sold out maybe six weeks after its release. FFG will often have reprint ready to go soon after, but just a curious observation.

If that were the case it never would have gone through the at printer and into the on the boat phase. It would have stayed in development. Phase.

Good point, but it could explain why Fully Operational is remaining 'in development'.
Either way I strongly suspect company resources have been moved from the RPG line into L5R and the minis lines that came out this year. Ultimately, adventure modules are traditionally the lowest selling product (in terms of volume) a company produces, so I would not be surprised to see it get bumped for more important titles.

It's shipping. This above. Port of LA is/has been down the last couple days because of the Ransonware attacks. Hanjin's bankruptcy left ships stranded around the world a few months ago. Pretty much always, or nearly always, shipping I'm sure.

Sure. But most of these books are largely done by freelancers and keep in mind it takes a year to go from being assigned to writers to shipping. So by the time it is actually announced the people writing it have been done for months. From what I can tell books get announced just before they are going to the printer. So all of the FFG end of things is already done. So while resources get shifted I am sure that they don't get delayed in a way we can see because they don't tell us about a product till it is going to the printer. And likely this is exactly why. We won't complain about a delayed product we don't know about.
Welp, it's officially July now; maybe we'll get a new book announcement this week or next!
I'm still iffy, with
Ghosts
still MiA and
Fully Operational
being anything but. Why announce a new project when your previous one is still in the dry dock getting its hull shaped? But I'm stupidly optimistic at times, so I'm still gonna hope
.
Additionally, if my guess about the cause of the delays is anything close to accurate, not this week but next week we'll see Ghosts finally move to start shipping. Once again, here's hoping!
The holiday tomorrow might disrupt operations this week - might be lots of folks on vacation, for example.
Also, there is the Asmodee going exclusively with a single US distributor effective either Aug 1 or Aug 31, so Asmodee, in general, seems to be holding releases until after that effective date. And at that point, they probably have it for a GenCon release

Honestly, I think there's only a Ghost of a chance of that happening!
Maybe the spies can tell us where Ghosts of Dathomir are - Cyphers and Masks announcement .
Seriously? I wasn't expecting this this soon! Well, at least I can take this cyanide capsule out of my mouth now. Darn thing was getting uncomfortable!
I think this one is really cool; y'all'll like it
. Predictions to come!
Nice!We got the Spy book, but I'm still waiting for my Warrior. If not this month the next.

Nooooo mystic!
Oh joy! The Spy sourcebook! I've been waiting for this one for some time.
As much as I enjoyed the fact that the Spy book was announced and all the potential awesomeness that it holds, I'd honestly prefer to see the "last updated" line for ghosts and fully operational change from their current March dates.
Yeah, me too. What does a new announcement matter of it's gonna take an entire year to get to us?
More and more I feel that the delay has something to do with the printer. Absol's numbers and stats have all focused on new product timelines (cause new is better) but we all sort of ignore the stuff that is being reprinted. I think there's a very telling story hidden there that points to printer issues.
- Savage spirits reprint has been stuck on the boat for as long as Ghosts (probably the same **** boat).
- the eote gm kit has been awaiting reprint since Feb 27.
The rest are all may/Jun or July but I haven't been paying attention to see if anything was added and has gone through the awaiting/at the printer/on the boat/ etc. Cycle outside of that.
Now all this theorycraft doesn't get us anywhere but it gives us something to do while we wait
Well, surprising announcement .
Development seems to be on point. Now they just need to secure a fast, reliable boat.
Uhh...wow. Gonna admit, not what I was expecting!
So...yeah. This presents a problem for my tables, being both, effectively, a new Line and a new book type . I need to rework a little, but I'll be back with predictions soon! (-ish!)
Not gonna say whether I'm excited about this or not; in fact, I'm a little "meh" about it. We'll just have to wait and see...

Right there with ya.
Finally, been waiting on this one.
As always, patience, this announcement leaves out a lot of stuff . Can't say what stuff, just lots. Take that for what it's worth.
Whether it will meet every squeaky wheel's expectation, I'll leave that to the squeaky wheels to decide for themselves....
