Arkanis sector, contains Tatooine and Geonosis.

Absol do you think Ghosts will hold up any and all announcements in Force? They did announce DoH after it and DoH is out already. I think the other teams will be unaffected by the slowness of Ghosts and possibly give us another class sourcebook before the book actually ships.

The Arkanis Sector; which I've already done a lot of development on for my own campaign so I REALLY hope that that's not the route they take.

Nearly every ST system - FASA, Prime Directive, LUG, etc. - asks you to be department heads, junior officers, or members of a Prime team. The goal is to get you to work together with other officers to solve a problem without having to worry about the lives of hundreds of other crewmembers. And if you recall from most TOS episodes, Bones and Scotty and the rest would often do what they **** well pleased (ha) unless Kirk or Spock REALLY came down on them. Yeah, very unlike the more rigid command structure of TNG.

Anyway, I've played (and run) FASA and LUG and have had a blast. If your GM was continually barking orders and expecting his players/crew to follow them? That's some pretty bad GMing, if you ask me. Star Trek is all about problem solving. (Interestingly enough, there was often very little starship combat; we saved that for the ST III Starship Combat Game or Star Fleet Battles.)

As for Star Trek Adventures? Hope it ends up getting some good reviews and positive WOM. But right now, you two (Imperial Stormtrooper and Nytwyng) may be the only people who've given me good vibes about it...

And to avoid completely derailing this topic? Hey, Absol197, I really appreciate your updates!

Whatever the name of this new EotE region/mystery book, I just hope it includes Tatooine, Tuskens, Jawa, bantha, dewbacks, Mos Eisley, etc. (My second choice would be the Corporate Sector, but I'm not sure how you'd craft an entire book around that sector of space; it might be best suited to an adventure supplement.)

Not so much barking orders but, for example, once we got into a ship combat scenario, GM and players alike maintaining the protocol. So my character, as the Tactical Officer/Security Chief, was basically relegated to RP'ing pressing buttons and saying, "Aye, Captain." It just seemed to lack some player agency. The GM in question was a favorite among our rotating stable of WEG SWRPG GM's, but the system (now that you mention them by name, I'm fairly certain it was LUG) just didn't provide a positive enough experience in that first session for us to continue on. A pity...I put in a lot of work helping the GM put together the basic premise and ship.

Definitely not opposed to scoping out the new system.

As a newcomer, I'd just like to say "thanks" to Absol197 and the community for hard work in helping predict future purchase times, as well as what content those books may have.

"Thanks!" :)

The Star Trek RPG tangent is starting to dilute Absol's good work here. I would like to see us pull that conversation to another thread,

Hey, if FFG gives you one, I can give you the other! No need to pick and choose :P !

I really, really hope not. Keep in mind that, assuming Fully Operational is still actually In Development and someone didn't just forget to press the button (see previous pages for in depth discussions on The Button TM ), best-case scenarios put it out in late September, at the earliest. If Ghosts is delayed until then?! They might as well scrap the entire book.

Well, maybe not. But still! Utter ridiculousness if it happens.

Thanks! I like giving them, regardless of how accurate my predictions have been of late.

I thinking there's a chance you might be in luck. One thing I've noticed is that the Edge region books have all been literal regions of space, whereas the Age and Force books so far have described planets with a similar theme (Rebel bases/Vergences) that aren't necessarily located in similar locations. Which means that the Shadowports book that we've all been yowling for might fall by the wayside in preference of a specific region of space. And, honestly, there are really only three big contenders: Mandalorian space, the Corporate Sector, and the sector where Tattooine is (forget its name). And out of all of those, I think they'll pick Tattooine, because...well, Tattooine.

But I don't rule out the possibility of a different region, or even a more general "planet type" book. I just think it's less likely.

Tatooine is in the Arkanis Sector along with Geonosis. And the Sentinel system that the Deathstar was built at...

So if FFG gives him death, you'll give us the book?

...Yes.

Same goes vice versa.

Does it have to be FFG that kills him? Because if human sacrifice is what it takes to get books on the shevles, well...

Hmm, that's a tricky one. I've been studying Willcrafting theory recently, and it operates strongly with symbolic links. So since he's looking for the Warrior book, and warriors kill people...probably? I dunno, I can't Craft myself, so I'm not sure.

Just feels odd that there is literally one book listed in development for the entire FFG Star Wars RPG corpus.

Sorry @Shlambate , your death is required

The Mystic Book has not been announced my friend you jump the gun.

But @Absol197 has promised us the book for your death, it is a regrettable situation

Blood for the Blood Book God!

So, how does Genesys affect the prognostication?

Hmm! Finally! I've been waiting, it's about time they announced that!

It doesn't, really, except for informing why we might not have gotten a new book announcement for June. I'll take a look and make sure there's no major ripple, but I don't think there will be.

I do like the art style they decided on, though!

I want some of the Genesys Dice for Play in any of our Star Wars lines they look cool.

Death only comes if Victory does not, if my Warrior Book releases I need not perish. It was never a blood sacrifice my friends it was a war chant!

Lok'tar Ogar!

Yes! Those dice are sweeet!

So shall we expect a separate spread sheet over in the Genesis forum for you tracking those releases, or are you a Star Wars only Gal?

(also - how in the heck do you do that hotlinked forum name thing? I've never figured out how to trigger that functionality)

Edited by Desslok

For the moment, I'm Star Wars only :) . I'll track Genesys, but the statistics won't be useful or pertinent until we have several books under our belt, which is a long ways off, considering they've only just announced the core book :P !

Besides, i am suspiciously unsurprised by this announcement. Make of that what you will ;) .

(Also, you put an "at" symbol before the person's name, and it does it semi-automatically. @Desslok )

Edited by Absol197

Yeah, I didnt think that we'd see any usable data for the first year's worth of releases at least. But hey, might as well get in on the ground floor, right @Absol197?

(Grrrr! Not working! And now everything is bold? Stupid forum!)

(EDIT - ah! there it goes! @Absol197@Absol197 @Absol197 Me am old and slow of mind so not so good at this whole hash tag social media thing!)

An entire wave of X-Wing expansions has gone from announcement to "Shipping Now" status in the time Ghosts of Dathomir has been on the boat. X-Wing wave 11 was announced on 3/15 and switched to "Shipping Now" today, for 7/13 release. Given how long the wait times have been for X-Wing expansions, this is totally nuts.

Well the text now matches your avatar @Desslok . Bold for how intense the penguin looks.
