If the Wee Free Men have the books, weep and despair, for their idea of what to do with books involves either kindling or something of a scatalogical nature. Reading is not one of their many talents.
Woah, woah, slow down there, Warchild
! No need to rev up the Lovecraftian Rituals, there! We don't want to rouse the great beast* by accident, we've got this without the Elder Things' help!
That being said, I am beginning to find this to be rather ridiculous. Ghosts , I believe, was originally slated to be released in Q1, and we're not going to see it until the last month of Q2, at the very earliest. Currently, it is 213 days after it's initial October 10 announcement date, and we STILL have no indication of when it's going to start shipping. For reference, that is 58.32% of a year, or SEVEN months. Sometimes we even hear from the playtesters when they get notifications that their contributor copies have shipped a couple of days before the status changes, and we still haven't heard a peep about that, meaning it could be even longer.
Additionally, Fully Operational now ties the record for longest time In Development . Do you want to guess what other book is part of that tie? Ghosts . We may be looking at a similar production time for FO to what we're seeing for GoD.
So new predictions. I'll update the first post with them at some point here. Still, irrationally, being somewhat optimistic.
Ghosts of Dathomir - June 8, 2017. This requires it to go to Shipping Now sometime next week.
Disciples of Harmony - June 22, 2017. This requires it to start shipping sometime the first full week of June. Amazingly, this is STILL uncertain.
Fully Operational - August 3, 2017. Despite the long time In Development , Age book have a good tendency to be rather quick at printing. If we get lucky, we might see this book by the start of August.

I'll sum up how this is starting to feel in two words: Dragon Age.
Reminds me of the time it took to get the third set of the RPG out
.
Despite that, I'm actually excited and hope everything updates nicely.
So after DoH and FO we've got 3 more career books (which I'm more interested in than anything else).
When (ball park) would you guess that the very last one will be released?
My Foresee talent sees the Warrior book out sometime next summer. The Mystic book should be out by christmas this year. I promised/predicted that for Absol many months ago (FFG, please don't make me a charlatan)..

So, this is a bit complicated, but I have a general answer. While I would LOOOVE it if Alisair was right and the last career book (which is almost guaranteed to be my favorite of all, the Mystic) was out by Christmas, I'm thinking that his guess is a longshot. Let me show you what I mean.
So, currently, the average duration between new book announcements is 54.52 days, or just about two months. Sometimes we get a new one two or even three months in a row, and sometimes, like right now, we go three months without one. New books are only announced in the first 16 days of a month, so it's looking like we won't get a new announcement for May. So, using an average of an announcement every two months, starting in June, if the only books announced are the career books, we'll get them announced in June, August, and October.
However, it is unlikely that it will be only the career books. First off, we KNOW that there is a Mystery Book in the Edge product code list, between Special Modifications and No Disintegrations . This is almost certainly a final Region book, as the Edge products have followed a perfect pattern of Adventure > Career > Region > Career since the beginning of the game. So that's a fourth potential book that could delay the announcement of one or two Career books.
Now, the Age and Force lines do not follow this same pattern, much to my chagrin for quite some time. However, they have so far both followed the same non-pattern, and with the announcement of Fully Operational , I can see the potential for another new pattern unfolding. Not a repetitive one like Edge, but a palindromic one: Adventure > Career > Region > Career > Career | Adventure | Career < Career < Region* < Career* < Adventure*. Now, this is still speculative and could be proven out to be wrong, but it is possible. This would leave both Age and Force with the standard six Career books, three Adventures, and two Regions. One fewer Region than Edge got, but still respectable.
If we assume this is correct, then in addition to our three career books that need to be announced, there are also three new region books to be announced that come before them in the product code order. Now of course, books can and do get released out of order, so even if I'm right we could still get all three career books before any of those Regions, but it does mean that it's possible that we'll need six announcements before the last book is announced. Which, using our two-month average from before, puts the final announcement in April 2018 (those final Adventures don't matter for this, because I find it very unlikely they'll be announced before the final career book from each line).
Personally, even though I think I'm right, I agree with the general consensus that FFG is trying to prioritize career books, and find it unlikely that we'll see more than two other books announced before the final career book, so let's put it at February announcement for the Mystic book. We then need to determine how long from announcement to release. The average so far is 136.54 days, or between four and five months. However, that figure is not including the currently baking books, and it's important to note the general trend since No Disintegrations was announced has been an increasing time between announcement and release. If we call it five months from announcement for the Mystic book to be released, we'd be looking at a final release date of July 2018.
But, using these assumptions, there are four potential "target areas," which I'll list in the order I find them most likely:
1. July 2018;
2. May 2018;
3. March 2018;
4. September 2018.
Either way, we're likely not going to have the final career book in our hands until the very end of Q1 2018, at the earliest. In my opinion, at least. Sorry for the bad news. Know that it's worse for me, as mostly likely you aren't waiting knowing your favorite career is destined to be last

Cheer up Absol, I might be the one person with worse cosmic luck than you, Warrior might not come out before Mystic, at this point it's a 50/50 on who has to wait for it.

Well, my biggest concern is actually for my little sister, who happens to be playing a Warrior. However, I only run Star Wars during the summer. Since neither book will be out in time for this rotation and there's a good chance both will be out by the end of next rotation, I'll go ahead and keep my fingers crossed that the Mystic book comes out first.
Late 2018 seems like a reasonable time frame from FFG's point of view too, they would never rush them out.
So Disciples of Harmony is off the boat and has a release date of 6/1. I never would have thought it would come out before Ghosts of Dathomir.
Oh thank you! It looks like my freak-out last week was, in this instance, partially unwarranted. I'll be glad to finally have this one in hand!
However, as you mention, this is the second time ever that a book comes out before a different book announced before it. That's still disappointing. But at least we'll finally have something new to devour!
Also, new article for Fully Operational . It confirms Bith are a species, and gives us the name of another new spec: the Sapper. Looks interesting, basically a combat builder/explosives expert. Looks like it's stealing a bit from the Demolitionist.
That's pretty cool. More enticing than the Shipwright for me, at least!

[ mock indignation ] If you hadn't said a sapper was "more enticing ran the shipwright" I would have "liked" your post, but you qualified it with "for me, ar least!" so i won't stay offended very long [ /mock indignation ]

Prophetess Absol you need to update your predictions on the first post.
Yes yes, I know. Give me a bit; work is rather busy this week, and I don't have my master charts on my home computer.
Really want to play a jawa sapper! Hope they include jawas somewhere sometime soon...

Most likely in the arkanis sector region book. Which would have tatooine, podracing, jawas, tusken raiders, etc.
No it hasnt been annouced. Just a guess.
Edited by DaeglanComic store's manager updated as to shipping status and availability date for DoH, so a copy should be waiting for me when I go in that week.
I went into my local game shop today to order DoH and they said it was showing as already in the distributor's warehouse and should be ready to pick up Friday.

Yes, if this happens, it becomes your solemn duty to spoil the pants off that book for us.
I'll post my spec spoiling template so you have it to reference. The requirements are all three specs, both Signature Abilities, both Force Powers, and anything else people ask about! It is a heavy and sacred duty!
