"Oh, my favorite career book will be announced next and I can't wait!" :P

Greetings from germany. When your favourite book is announced it will take like minimum 2 years until we get the german version.

I'm holding out hope that our guys will be able to finish.

I think they will, I didn't mean to impart any fear that they wouldn't finish. Perhaps in a week we will know more?

That's the hope! New month, new announcements!

...Maybe? Please?

Next Thursday is May the Forth.

What kind of books do we expect to get in the future for Edge of the Empire? The career sourcebooks are all finished up. More adventures? More settings? Something new?

Or...dare I say it...nothing at all? Is EotE finished?

I would imagine at all available energy will now be put behind finishing the other lines. I'm curious to see how the new movies affect things though. Will it just be beginner boxes or will new setting/adventures be tied in with the new material.

Of course the legends movies tie nicely in with the core books...

What I would hope is to get more adventures once they're done fleshing things out. A nice big book of adventures for each line would be lovely.

IF they do a second edition i can imagine it being in a few years time once Disney/LFL have completed the current trilogy. FFG wont want to do too much in that time period since they wont have all the details making the fluff text extremely hard to write. They may even choose to do the L5R game before hand, to ensure enough of the new time has been fleshed out.

Edit: and they would set the second edition in the new New Republic timeline to reduce the distaste at "buying the same thing again". They may even bring the entire system back to a single line or change the entire way they lay out the system

Excuse my ignorance but what does L5R refer to?

L5R is short for "Legends of the Five Rings" as @Nytwyng mentioned. Its a 20 year old setting based on the premies of "what would Feudal Japan with Magic look like". read more here on the wiki page.

Basically there have been multiple CCG (Collectable card game) and RPG editions over the years, with board games as well. FFG purchased the Intellectual Property (IP) late in 2015, and the card game Nytwyng linked to is FFG's first new product announcement. But FFG make RPG and board games too, so basically everyone is just patiently waiting for them to announce those to the world.

The significant thing is that they own the IP, which is very different to holding a licence. FFG can do whatever they want with the setting and the games they make within it, instead of always having to please the owner of the IP (Disney/LFL for Star Wars and Games Workshop for Warhammer are good examples). It also means they can play the long game, they don't have annual fees or quotas to keep up, they can take their time. Also the fact its an older IP means there is a large fan group out there.

Who knows where they go with it, but Ill be so excited to see an RPG come out of it.

Thanks, was feeling like an old man there, not knowing what the kids were talking about :)

L5R also has some chinese influence as well...

Well, we got a new article for Fully Operational today. That's good, I guess. Kaminoans are pretty neat.

But I'm still really annoyed by the void of information or movement on other fronts. I have to keep reminding myself we had the exact same thing last year, where there was a whole lot of nothing until May 4, then things started moving again. I really hope that ends up being the case this year, too.

We'll see tomorrow, I guess...

Thanks for the heads up about the article... having a science masters in aeronautics and astronautics, i'my naturally stoked about the shipwright and vehicle building rules... it sounds like the shipwright is a bit like a cross between the mechanic and rigger with the ability to have 2 signature vehicles

Link, woman! Where's the link`? You can't just throw statements like that out there and then force me to waste precious seconds searching for the article! In the words of Carrie Fisher: "Instant gratification takes too long." :P

Hey! I can't link on my phone, so if you want me posting at all with anything resembling frequency, you're just gonna have to suck it up and deal with it :P !

Do we have a feel for how FFG has released any information around May the 4th, historically?

I only have one year's worth of data, unfortunately, and that's last year, when they announced the Force Awakens Beginner Game. However, no actual line book has ever been announced or released on May 4. I don't know about informational articles.

Last year they announced two new Star Wars products, the Force Awakens Beginner Box (for the RPG) and Heroes of the Resistance (for X-Wing). The World Championships for their competitive Star Wars games (X-Wing, Destiny, Imperial Assault Skirmish, Armada, and the LCG) are happening now at their HQ. They have some display cases up with unreleased Star Wars products, including one with a lot of conspicuous space for new announcements. They'll definitely be announcing something Star Wars today, but no telling if it is for the RPG. My guesses are an Endor themed wave for Imperial Assault, an expansion for Star Wars: Rebellion, or an X-Wing product (maybe a campaign box). We should know soon enough (though if I recall from last year, the May 4th articles posted really late in the day).

Cheer up! Star Wars Day isn't until May 25th. May 4th is silly fake Star Wars Day.

So with both ghosts and disciples still being on the boat and not cooperating with our resident statician's dates, do we have an updated timeframe yet?

Absol do you want us to sacrifice a rubber chicken in your name to aid in your divinations, or would you prefer that we just stare at a calendar emphatically? Or if we dance widdershins 13 times around a faerie ring filled with Rogue one bluray discs at midnight will that help?

Be careful warchild1x, I think that calls to the Lords and Ladies. If you're unlucky, the Nac Mac Feegles will hear too.

Can they divine the times of the books release? Or are they the ones holding them hostage?
