Trends, Statistics, and Predictions!

By Absol197, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

It seems to be unfortunate but true, which is sad since Age is the core of my group's current campaign. I have the Edge core and besides myself I think only one other player has opened it to look at something besides gear (just gear not even starships) and they have no interest in force using characters so we don't even have the F&D core book yet.

I've gotten use out of all the books even if its only coming up with cool NPC's with one of the species that I forgot about (our crew has 2 verpines now, I want to see the group split up and use them to communicate) and all the gear works well for an Age campaign.

I hope the next book announced is an Age sourcebook.

I think it is more if it is force related people discuss it in the F&D forum. If it is not and is not specifically Age related it gets put here. So edge sees the most traffic followed by F&D with Age bringing up the rear.

So in pondering the different books I think a full line will be 3 region books. 3 adventures and 6 career books. and if you look at the product numbers for example SWE15 I think will be a region book. Then you have the 4 decks for no disintegrations.

That seems like a reasonable amount of product and a good goal for them to aim for. They could conceivably keep one person on this project after all that to release 2 or 3 books a year for a few more years too, just adventure and setting (region) books.

I also assume there is further systems in the pipeline now that GW product production is ended. An L5R or a Terrinoth system would both fit their current lineup well, perhaps the L5R will maintain its traditional dice systems while Terrinoth would be the new fantasy Narrative Dice system built upon SW dice.

Hmm...So, here's something interesting: if Ghosts of Dathomir doesn't update its status some time next week, it will officially double the longest previous At the Printer timeframe I had tracked. Used to be 34 days, it's possible we could get to 68 or more. We're at 60 as of right now.

…Which just so happens to be the kill count on my fps! ¬ \ (''/) / ¬

Hey Absol, any chance you could work your magic and tell us something about when we might expect a new AoR career book? (I have me a hankering for some Spy action...)

Speaking of At The Printer, Disciples of Harmony is there now.

Well, we should be getting a new Age announcement soon, I think. It's been a while. As always, all new announcements are in the first two weeks of a month, so hopefully in the next week or two. And while I'd like a new career book, I'm pretty sure that Daeglan is right that we'll get a region book. We haven't had one since Nexus of Power almost a year ago, and we've had four career books and two adventures announced since then. We're way behind on Region books.

And while my confidence in my previous prediction of the remaining Age career books has been shaken, and while I'd LOVE a Spy book (I'm not a big fan of techie-types), for the moment I'm still thinking that the Engineer is gonna be before the Spy. Mostly because I'm convinced that all my favorite careers are going to be last :P ! Although it's not like I don't have SOME data to back me up; it's just been undermined by the place in the official order that Disciples of Harmony happens to fall.

And speaking of which...

Done!* Hmm...We're hovering around where we already were. For those who were present in the thread for the new DoH article, I moved my prediction back to June 15, but not that we've got a bit more data, I'm going to, TENTATIVELY, keep it the same at June 1. But things have been taking longer than expected recently, so I fully expect we'll see that shift back. But for now we'll remain foolishly optimistic :P .

* Yes, I come with my own loading bar.

The forum is working again!

I near about had a heart attack when it went down; I don't deal so well with sudden, unexpected change :p !

I guess we know they use S3 now!

Just a brief outage to excise any evidence of Games Workshop games it seems.

Actually that is a better explanation, just coincidence that Amazon was down at the same time

From what I hear, purging every trace of that company is sweet, sweet relief. So if that's what happened, then good on FFG :) . I can accept that as the reason!

Although in reality it was all just moved to the archives. Now, when do we find out there next RPG system?

Is it or is it not heresy that we purged the God Emperor of Mankind?

Actually, the 2nd Edition Dark Heresy stuff seems to have been moved under Force & Destiny Beta by mistake.

Huzzah! And dammit, that means I was right that the Spy was last. But Huzzah, new book! New career book, at that!

Give me a few moments to update charts and run some calcs and I'll be back with a shiny new prediction!

Wow, that's exactly what I thought they'd call it! Golly...

I'll ninja Absol and use my meager Foresee power and predict that Fully Operational will be fully operational (heh) early september.

Well, my initial very-rough prediction is actually July 13. However, if Fully Operational acts in any way like our recent books have acted (lookin' at you, Ghosts...) that'll need to be pushed back. But Age books have been, historically (with the notable exception of Strongholds of Resistance ), the quickest of the bunch, so here's hoping.

Prediction (and Product Code chart) updated in the first post :) .

EDIT: Also, I notice that we didn't get a product code gap. No mystery books this time! With the exception of the one before No Disintegrations . Which, actually, quite surprises me.

Cool! My current group has 2 Engineers they will be very interested in this book.

Also does the Bith on the cover mean we're getting stats for them?!?

Very likely :) . I can confirm that 100% of the time, the species on the cover of the book is either A) Featured in the Core Rulebook for that line; or B) Featured in the book itself.

So yes, Biths are finally getting stats! For those of you who like Biths (i.e. not me (or Marcy)).
