We dont know what it is so not slaked.

Now we just need something else in development to slake our endless nerd thirst

There's stuff in development.....consider your thirst sated....

Mr. Pirate is simply trying to assuage your feelings that their won't be announcements in telling you that their are things in development. For me that's all I need.

My post was intended to be humorous, but The Dread Pirate 2P51 has already stated that he ENJOYS giving us the itch we cannot scratch (and has compared it to the joy he gets from watching his kids impatiently wait for Christmas to open their presents)

Oh I got the intention, I was being humorous as well, and also trying some other tactics seeing as the Dread Pirate Roberts likes to see us squirm then maybe not squirming will get him to slip. ;)

Used to be kids at Xmas, at 23 and 29 I think they're on to my ways finally.....the grand swabs though, that's another story......

Well, darn. It appears we may be going another week before No Disintegrations starts shipping. They've already updated the Upcoming page for new items that are shipping, and our lovely Bounty Hunter book did not make the cut :( ...

My current prediction does not change, but only because I chose to be extra conservative when we missed the truck last week.

Naturally. There's been no announcement of the product line suddenly ending, and Lucasfilm/Disney aren't the types to suddenly yank a license away for bizarre reasons (something Games Workshop has done in the past to other license holders), and we've still got at least 5 more career books to get through (Spy and Engineer for AoR, Consular, Mystic, and Warrior for FaD).

So has anyone else noticed the date for No Disintegrations keeps bouncing between 11/30 and 12/1?

Don't say things like that. It makes Absol... uneasy.

Yes, several people in the No Disintegrations keep freaking out about it :) .

But, although I don't track those fluctuations directly, I have noted their existence the entire time I've been tracking data, and they have no noticeable effect on the time periods at each stage of development. So they're nothing to worry about (directly).

EDIT: Actually no, Krieger, those don't make me uneasy, because I've already reviewed them and discounted their relevance :P !

I just chalk it up to something goofy going on with their software.

Pretty much :) .

That darn leap second.

Meh, first saw a Y2K bug in the wild in 1996. I was working for a large motor manufacturer, dealing with a system that handled stock control and ordering for prototypes. First time someone added a prototype build for year 2000 on a long programme the system went wild, telling the teams that 1000's of parts were overdue (as 00 < 96). Of course, actual ordering wasn't automatic, or it would have been an expensive error.

Y2K was never as dangerous as the press made out, but it certainly happened, and I always struggle with the idea that if many people spend many hours avoiding issues, then issues don't arrive, it's a scare story rather than a success !

Well seeing that China, India, and the Former Soviet Republics had near 0 implementation of any Y2K related patches, it was really more of a scare story/ cash grab by Y2K specialist firms than an actual danger.

I was in 6th grade when Y2K happened; I recall my teacher assigned us to write a story about what we would do if we found out the world was ending with the Millennium :) .

For the curious: as the devastation waved towards us across the world, I found a way to warp my friends and family into the world of Pokémon, where clearly there are no numbered years, so the danger was entirely negated. Plus, Pokémon! So as you can see, I was just as amazing a writer then as I am now :D !

My wife and I were both on the Y2k teams for our respective employers in Brussels, Belgium. Because her employer was one of the largest wholesale banks in Europe, that meant she got put on the “priority” list for access to GSM communications if there was an actual disaster. There was a limit to the number of people they could put on that priority list, something like 500 across the entire country.

Yes, there was lots of money spent trying to ensure that Y2k was a non-event, but there were a lot of very real bugs that were actually fixed, and which could have lead to catastrophic events if they hadn’t been fixed.

In hindsight, there may have been more noise made about the problem than it truly deserved, but since Y2k didn’t actually result in a world-wide catastrophe, we can’t be sure.

Yeah, I watched Y2k fireworks from the datacenter windows myself. If I knew then what I know now, I'd ask myself, "why does this datacenter have windows?" At least they bought us pizza for that all-hands-all-day clusterfidget.

I spent Y2K night with half a dozen people busted up and nearly dead, as well as, a crazy/drunk Syrian ranting about being kidnapped (I think)....admittedly my Arabic is/was not where it should have been time and circumstances considered....no computer issues though.....
