Trends, Statistics, and Predictions!

By Absol197, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Okay folks - initial prediction for Ghosts of Dathomir is March 02, 2017. That is very rough, as usual for initial predictions. I hope to move it forward soon! Although do keep in mind that on average, adventures have taken longer to release than career books. Although that might be influenced by the fact that we have, with this one, a total of seven data points for adventures and 13 data points for career books. Keep that in mind :) .

First post has been updated!

P.S. I note that this book is also not on the upcoming page yet, although since it was just announced less than an hour ago, I think I can give this one a bit more time before I start freaking out and calling Conspiracy! :)

So Ghosts of Dathomir is the next book, and it looks like SWF40.

Looks like we're getting those utterly ridiculous spinning sabers. Although really - I only want one so I can fly around!

And I thought the Guard Shoto was the limit of sick-spinz we'd get. Now we got Flightsabers. If we could only get a Bith to DJ, then we could have a saber rave.

It's not a party till we get a Lightsaber whip.

So you can whip and nay nay?

Joking aside I have a question for our Togruta number mistress, Absol. Can you give the most, least, and average times between announcement and release for career books?

I looked through about half the thread trying to find it before I decided just to ask and risk you posting info you've already provided.

Thank you.

Lumiya was always one of my favorite characters, so getting her lightwhip I'd be okay with. I'd take it over the Helicopasaber any day of the week.

I certainly can!

Here's the data so far:

Far Horizons - 98 days

Forged in Battle - 100 days

Lead by Example - 101 days

Fly Casual - 103 days

Endless Vigil - 107 days (predicted)

Special Modifications - 112 days

Stay on Target - 123 days

No Disintegrations - 127 days (predicted)

Desperate Allies - 132 days

Dangerous Covenants - 141 days

Savage Spirits - 147 days

Enter the Unknown - 148 days

Keeping the Peace - 162 days

So, the minimum so far has been Far Horizons ' 98 days, while the maximum was Keeping the Peace 's 162. Average so far is 122.83 (including Endless Vigil because that's almost guaranteed, but excluding No Disintegrations ), which gives a standard range of 101.34 - 122.83 - 144.32 days.

Hope that helps :) !

EDIT: Also, can I gripe about something real quick? I check the news page about four or five times an hour, often once every five minutes. Why does someone else ALWAYS see the new announcement and post here before I do?! It's seriously starting to get annoying :P !

I wonder in what order they post news - clearly twitter, rss and facebook are refreshed quickly? I wonder if any of our numerically-inclined forumgoers wants to analyze that data?

I do not use Twitter, Facebook, or RSS, and I refuse to on moral grounds :) . So while the data would be interesting, it will not be me who collects it.

I would never additionally burden you with this, I think one of our other members could take up the task. And no, it won't be me.

I don't have a Facebook or twitter so I'm out of the running.

Okay, gather the Conspiracy Theorists!

Ghosts of Dathomir is now on the Upcoming page, but No Disintegrations still isn't! Coincidence? I THINK NOT!!!

What? WHAT?

Don't they know that we need the bounty hunters to hunt down all the dangerous force-users who insist on being a menace to society!?!

Joking aside, we are a little low on FaD books comparatively speaking (it IS the most recent) so I can understand the idea of adding some more of those supplements as opposed to EotE, which has the most of them.

Still want to see No Disintegrations up there, though!

I'm really starting to buy into the whole "It's secretly already On The Boat (Or even possibly in warehouses about to shift to Shipping Now" theory. What better surprise Christmas/Life Day present than the career book that's been requested since Day 1?

I'm so scared I can't even wet my pants.

Phew! It's okay, folks, we can call off the conspiracy party! No Disintegrations is now on the Upcoming page!

Too bad about the it's almost here theory No Disintegrations is still in development.

It is actually too bad. Even assuming that we go to At the Printer this week, we're still not going to a release much sooner than my initial prediction. The best-case I'm seeing with that assumption is a release on January 5th, but the 12th is actually more likely.

And that's assuming we change status this week! If we don't then we'll be almost to February before release...

Endless Vigil is now available at CoolStuffInc and my retailer confirmed me that release is today. Once the crates from FFG get processed, the books will be on the website.

If you want the book... it's available now :)

Old news by now, friend :) . But thanks!

And since we've reached the 20th, I'll go take it off the predictions in the first post...

Hey hey hey! Would you look at that! No Disintegrations has moved to being At the Printer ! Finally! It only took 36 days...

But that's progress at least, right? Unfortunately, because of the longer time In Development , my prediction has only moved closer by a week, to January 12. And even if we move at record pace from here on out, I'm still not seeing it arriving before the end of December. So not that much longer to wait, but so much longer than anyone wants... :(

Hey. Hey hey hey. This is the fastest a book has gone from posted as In Dev to at the printer. Right? Like five days. We should be celebrating.

We should be celebrating.

Wait, who's not celebrating??

No Celebrations!

I'm curious what Phee suspects what book will be announced next and when.
