Trends, Statistics, and Predictions!
Another possibility regarding the potential order of F&D career books has occurred to me, so I thought I'd share.
Once again, this is related to the specialization decks, but not as directly related to their product codes. For Force, unlike for Age or Edge, the Core Rulebook specialization decks were released in pairs - the first pair was announced with an article called "Might and Right" and contained the Guardian and Warrior; the second was "Seek and You Shall Find" and contained the Sentinel and Seeker; the final pair was released with the article "Take the Future into Your Hands" and gave us the Consular and Mystic.
We got our order of product codes based on this: Guardian > Warrior > Sentinel > Seeker > Consular > Mystic. However, the order of career books so far has been: Guardian > Sentinel > ??? > Seeker. Now, since Age has a couple of pairs of careers flipped between the spec decks and the books, I've been assuming the Warrior and Sentinel got flipped here, making the unknown book the Warrior book. But looking at it again, you'll see there's another possibility: The Guardian was the first career from the first set, and the Sentinel the first career from the second. They official book order might be using the first career from each set of spec decks, making the mystery book the Consular, and leaving the order of the last two books hard to guess.
Now, I'm going to admit I find this unlikely, and am personally holding strong in my belief that the mystery book is the Warrior for now. But there is a potential link for it to be the Consular, for those Consular fans out there!

I am not sure what you meant here. As the F&D career books have been Guardian> SEEKER> then Sentinel so we are missing the second book from the first pair and both books from the final one.
Take a look at the product codes for Force and Destiny in the first post of this thread. Keeping the Peace is SWF24, Endless Vigil is SWF30, and Savage Spirits is SWF41. There's a large gap, perfectly fit for another career book and either a region or adventure book (it's most likely an adventure) in between them. That's what I'm referring to, not the actual release order of the books, but the expected release order based on the product codes.
What I'm saying is that, although I'm expected that unknown career book at SWF35 to be the Warrior book, there is at least a possibility based on information we have that it could be the Consular book instead.
Woah, second page? Sorry folks, I've been a bit distracted!
So, stuff coming up: well, tomorrow begins September - I'm expecting the next Edge book to be announced sometime next week. If not next week or the one following, then...I just don't know anymore. Maybe they are leaving it to rot. We're already at 160 days since Special Modifications was released (43.81% of a year), and a whopping 272 days since it was announced (74.47% of a year), so...yeah.
Also, we should be getting close to seeing Friends Like These going to the printer. The previous two books, Forged in Battle and Endless Vigil , were 14 and 16 days In Development respectively, and FLT is at 16 days as of today. Hopefully it doesn't take as long as Savage Spirits did - that book was In Development for 63(!!) days. I'm thinking it won't be nearly that long, but we never really do know...
And although it likely won't be the next book announced (see above, regarding Edge books), I'm thinking we won't be waiting long for the next Force career book, which should very likely be the Warrior. Probably the book that is hiding at product code SWF35.
Okay, there's your daily dose of predictions! Time to watch them all fall apart

Hi law... of thermodynamics, I'm Dad!
About how many more Sector Books might we see? Is there a logical breakdown of places beside Tatooine that deserve more detail and splatbook?
Or. . . god forbid, FFG goes off script and makes their own worlds?
That's a distressing trend that WotC established. WEG, by the sheer virtue that they had nothing to work from, had to build all these worlds and sectors and regions and people and places and ships. WotC, as near as I recall, did mostly movie and other EU locations exclusively. FFG has a mix, drawing on obscure locations and fleshing them out - but I'd love to see a Minos Cluster or a Lords of the Expanse - all new worlds, settings, people and stuff from the minds of the devs and not the edicts of the mouse.

Okay, stupid completely non-star wars related story. A couple of years ago I was taking a road trip through Nevada to drive the Loneliest Road in America - and like the name implies, there is NOTHING out there. As in no things - just 500 miles of endless desert and road. You could easily drive for an hour and not see another car, and I frequently did.On my way back home, I drive right past the turn off for the Extraterrestrial Highway , the road that runs down to Rachel, the town just outside Area 51. "Oh what the hell", I think, "lets see what I can see" as I start driving south. So here it is, hours since I've seen a sign of civilization, let alone another car. Just me, the long, straight flat road and wilderness as far as the eye can see - when I spot a white, windowless van with a tinted windshield coming up behind me in my rear view mirror. A few minutes later, it pulls up right behind me - not tailgating distance, but still pretty close. . . . and it just paces me. No reason it can't pass, no oncoming traffic at all, I'm doing the speed limit so that's not it. It just . . . follows me.It stays in my six for several minutes. Just as I'm about to start tripping balls, the van suddenly floors it, whips around me and zooms off down the road into the distance. When I get to Rachel a few minuets later, there's no van in the Lil' Alie Inn, I don't see anything down the road. The van simply vanished. And thus ends my encounter with aliens and/or the Men In Black. . . . .
I don't know how true this is, especially since I'm not from the US let alone Nevada
BUT
*puts on tinfoil hat*
I've read somewhere that this isn't a rare occurence around that area.
Like, unmarked Vans staking out people in the vicinity of the military base, making sure they're not up to anything fishy, I guess.
If you want to believe~~
I think it was some youtuber tweeting about it, with pictures even.
I can update when I find it again.

I've got an uncle who lives in Vegas and, based on a variety of factors, I'm fairly certain he works at Groom Lake/Area 51.
I met him for lunch one day when he had a layover here. It was the year Independence Day came out, and the restaurant we ate at was in front of a movie theater. I considered asking him (jokingly, of course) how close the movie got it. But, I know the answer would have been his (equally joking), "I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you."

That's the last thing you want to do. Metal actually amplifies the signal and makes it easier for them to track you. You want an insulator; not a conductor. I recommend a plastic bicycle helmet; they provide a good compromise between effectiveness and not looking terribly out-of-place.
No no no: metal may amplify the signal and make it easier for the satellites to track you, but it blocks the aliens from being able to control your thoughts worth their telepathy.
Which is clearly worse. Although, hmm...
I got it! Rubber hats lined with tin foil on the inside! It's perfect!
And I totally became your friend because you're so great and funny and cute, and totally NOT because FFG promised me free books if I kept an eye on you...
Totally.
That 'Special Modifications' preview thing was, like, totally a coincidence!
Edited by MaeloraBetter yet, a room with rubber walls. I bet I can arrange a place like that for you. Just let them know, in detail, why you need it.

I wish I could 'like' this 1000 times Mr Penguin.
FFG do seem to have some leeway to create new stuff (even if we possibly didn't need the Planet of Talking Budgerigar People...)
But I must admit, for a while now they seem to have focused on species from the cartoons and movies rather than the EU. Can't help but feel paranoid about that.
But, yeah... I miss the wild west era of WEG when everything was up for grabs, when it felt like ours and not theirs . #OccupyStarWars!
A new area, filled with new species (even ugly ones!), new factions and conflicts, new planets, new gear and ships and everything... New twists on tired old tropes... Sign me up for that.
Or, y'know, we could do Tattooine again. Because we totally need to see that again. Over to you, FFG.
Edited by MaeloraI agree. I wouldn't even have my favorite planet if WEG hadn't had the freedom to create the things they wanted.
Oh, and Marcy? Your timing's a bit off: I didn't start making predictions until right around the time Special Modifications came out, so you couldn't have already made a deal with them to keep an eye on me.
Unless...they already knew! Holy Carp, Lord of the Seas! I think I need to hide before the black vans arrive...

If nothing else, FFG Special Forces know how to play the long game!
So FFG is part of the Shadow Collective...I should have know! How do extricate myself from this tangled web of lies and RPGs?!?!

Talk is cheap, typing even cheaper. Maybe we need to take matters into our own hands - much like the Ship Art & NPC Art threads, maybe yoinking the planet data format used in the books and populating it with our own bright ideas might be a great boon to the community.
I concur, themensch.
My name is 'Taylor', so I'm actually better at taking someone else's stuff and putting a new twist on it.
But I'd love to see new stuff created by others. We have lots of talented and imaginative people on these forums.

Already done so, adapting a few of the planets from the original Marvel series and one of my own. May have to toss them up when I get to them once I get home this evening.
