No mention of an attachment/modification section in the article. I really hope this is just an oversight and they are in fact included.

There was no mention of that section with Gadgets and Gear so I'd be surprised if we didn't get it. Especially since the article touches on ships being modified.

I still say they need to get at LEAST one adventure book (Jewel of Yavin, Onslaught at Arda 1, Chronicles of the Gatekeeper, etc) for each of the three games going per year as well as a setting/focus book (Suns of Fortune, Strongholds of Resistance, Nexus of Power, etc) for each game per year. There you have six books that will sell each year right there that GM's will, and in the latter case players will also, scoop up. They can feel free to keep release books in the Lucas Eta as they see fit or the Sequel Trilogy which comes to an end this year (in anyone actually wants to play in the middle of that train wreck).

After all the books that fans have purchased along the way, and work that's gone into creating this great system and plenty of books of support it, it would be a disaster to let it die out. Just taking the six I'm suggesting alone is at least three releases per quarter which will bring in revenue under their existing license before even having to deal with Disney on their Sequel Trilogy golden child. Besides making them steady money, it makes fans happy, and keeps the game relevant. I do hope they continue to reprint previous career books and core books, but I recall reading somewhere in this thread that reprints would cease, which is not good for the future.

Is there anything in pipeline right now?

My impression with the newer releases is that they have implicitly shifted towards a single successor line whose books can be used with all three of the original game lines. I would be happy to have adventures or setting books for each of the lines, but I suspect we'll get a book akin to "dawn of rebellion" based on the post OT Mandalorian era and sequel era books akin to "rise of the separatists" and "fall of the republic," etc.

A ’Return of the Republic’ book for a Mandalorian tie-in would be great but how much canon content for that era is there for designers to draw on? Aftermath, Alphabet Squadron...? I was recently using Lords of Nal Hutta for a campaign and it's packed full of gems but how much was canon and how much wasn’t? Can FFG draw freely on Legends material any more? Given that UK viewers cannot (legally) watch The Mandalorian until Disney+ arrives on our shores on March 31st next year, the FFG writers might well have enough material from the completed series by then to surprise us with an ‘in development’ reveal for a book at the same time. But it probably wouldn’t be released until Christmas 2020 at the very earliest. Personally I’d look at a post-Order 66 ‘Rule of the Empire’ title right now, as the Ahsoka and Kenobi novels, Solo movie, Rebels series, Thrawn novels and Rogue One, not to mention the Fallen Order game, all have material from which to draw.

Oh and we need two more Jedi specialisations to make the full six - I’m thinking Survivor could be one of them for those who survived Order 66 and went underground. And the Apostate - those who conversely embraced their anger and became recruitment fodder for the Inquisitorius.

There is dawn of rebellion that covers the rule of the empire ground you covered and it has an awesome padawan survivor spec, feel free to ignore the "padawan" part of the name, I do frequently

I think it was during their last InFlight report at GenCon that the speaker pretty much said the plan for the line was to do era-based supplements, and that they wouldn't be releasing the same volume of material as they had done in the earlier years of the game's life cycle. A large part of that has to do with their RPG department having limited resources, and having both Genesys and L5R taking up a good amount of their team's time and energy.

That being said, it is still entirely possible that FFG may produce adventures or regional supplements, but those will likely be designed with consideration for usage by any of the three game lines, though adventures might be trickier to do that way given the very different themes that the three lines have. Admittedly, I've tweaked a number of EotE adventures to be used for my Force and Destiny campaign, but F&D has the benefit of being a bit closer in general theme to EotE than either line is to AoR.

Yes, though I see Dawn of Rebellion as covering the latter part of the imperial era. Padawan Survivor is a nice tree indeed but much of its content suits the young who never completed their training, rather than the established Jedi forced to hide their skills. The alternative of course is for every Jedi who survived Order 66 to unlock Sentinel Shadow...

Copying from Armada forums:

From FFG posting on the discord.

"Going forward: wherever possible, every product will be "In Production" until it ships from the warehouse out to retailers, at which point it will change to "Shipping Now."

To counteract the lack of granularity, FFG will be adding projected release months, which will be updated as they get additional information. Hopefully that all makes sense!"

That is both very useful (thank you!) and also very unhelpful...

I guess it totally changes the Numbers :(

But now it lists Starships & Speeders as being out in February 2020...

Absol, I’m assuming the statistics don’t account for pandemics...

Our prophet has likely thrown in the towel now lol. (FFG has anyways)

Well, Edge Studios is taking over the RPGs, including Star Wars, @Khazadune

So, it's possible that once something is announced, the prophesies can continue...

I hadn't heard that, is it official? All of FFG's RPG's or? Is there a source? Will they all be continuing? I don't know if this good news or bad...

Yes, it’s official. It was announced at GAMA. All lines have been announced as continuing, but no announcements have been made about any potential new material for any line.

ETA: It’s part of an overall restructuring of Asmodee’s imprints. Edge Studios will handle all RPGs, while FFG will focus on miniature and board games, for example, allowing each studio to concentrate on a specialty without personnel moving from, say, an RPG book to a mini game and back.

Hi everybody. Can I just say: I miss this. I had so much fun geeking out about math and predicting releases with you all.

I hope everyone has been keeping well, and staying safe! Here's hoping we'll get new announcements soon. Lots of love to all of you!

I miss these too...I have to settle for L5R announcements...which while cool is not star wars...

I'm so sad about this. It was good times, and I'm sorry FFG won't be doing it anymore. Not sure how I feel about Asmodee, but it is what it is. Here's to further adventures.....

I mean... even if another company is technically doing it, I'm gonna keep posting here as long as this forum still exists 😁 . We may have to start the data -pool over from scratch, but if and when it happens, I will be back!

And I'm gonna make an effort to hang out around here more often again. Despite some ups and downs, there are a lot of good people here 🙂 .

you could write a scraper to scrape this entire thread for research purposes clearly :)

Umm... sure? Is a scraper an actual thing I should know about, or are you suggesting scrapping this thread and starting a new one?

Well they did hire Sam Stewart to run the New Edge Studios for them. and he has already annouced Writ of the Wild for L5R. so all is not lost. and it sounds like he may be hiring other members of his old team.

A scraper is absolutely a thing. It “scrapes” the data from an online source to put elsewhere. 😁
