Only a little :) . I'm just a bit busy, sorry guys. I'm playing through Pokémon Gen VII games, obsessing over the new Smash, trying to force myself to write, and I have actual work to do, too.

I'll try to get back to doing my analyses for you guys soon!

I suspect w hatever happened with printing and shipping to delay previous products, ongoing predictions will be tricky until we can perceive a clear product strategy. As we move out of career books for the three core games, there will probably be a schedule of era books, area books and perhaps a campaign adventure book or two. But getting those into a regular release schedule might take a while. The Rise of the Separatists book jumped straight from development to the boat without hitting the printers, making me suspect that the Upcoming section of the website isn't really that useful as a tool to guide us.

We're now looking at just one SW book in the release schedule, despite intimations here that plenty of folks are currently playtesting or developing future products. On one hand there will be more stuff, on the other hand, pending some major change in FFG's communications strategy (obfuscated I'm sure by Lucasfilm), expect to hear about new products out of the blue and then don't hold your breath for any of them to appear until the Force wills it...

Sorry guys, I've been super busy :( . Combined with little news, and I haven't had much reason to stop by lately. I'll be back to form soon, I hope!

Hopefully busy is good. :) i looks like the separatist book is going good.

With LOT5R being the big October release, I suspect Rise of the Separatists will be November's and the Rokugan book December's.

Not likely. It was at the printer and boat is 6 to 8 weeks and shipping now is 2 weeks. So more likely february

Well, here we are at 6 weeks from the last change in status for Rise of the Separatists. I don't know that our very own prognosticator has plumbed the Force to determine a release date, but surely we should see this soon. Or are my senses clouded by the dark side?

With "on the boat" times for SW books being as wildly varied as they've been for the past few releases (excepting Knights of Fate which fell into more regular schedule compared to the AoR splats), at this point one might as well throw a dart at a calendar.

I think Daeglan's guess of February is probably as close to an accurate guess as we're likely to get, with end of December being a best-case scenario.

That said, I'll be glad to be wrong and to have this book shipping in November.

When are the new clone wars episodes slated to be released again? I suspect rise will coincide with the release at least to some degree.

They’ll be on the upcoming Disney streaming service. The service doesn’t have a launch date available other than “2019,” and it hasn’t been announced whether or not the new Clone Wars episodes will be available at launch.

Yeah, I know, I was just hoping to urge the process forward.

It would be nice if they got back to the 6 to 8 week boat plus 2 weeks shipping now

Hrrrm. Doesn't sound like theres a solid date then. I will defer to the ever hopeful "before Christmas, but more likely February" crowd.

Hey Absol how long did it take to go from sent to printer to bad print run to back to printer and back to shipping now?

Okay.... now that we have a second book in the works, Any predictions oh great and mighty prophetess?

Help us Absol. You're our only hope!

Unrelated to swrpg, but I got notice that Genesys' Android supplement and the adversary decks for it are shipping.

Hopefully that means Star Wars stuff won't be too far behind. I also recently got more caught up on listening to Order 66 podcast, and earlier this month GM Phil was talking about Allies and Adversaries being his *first* contribution to an FFG book (in particular the Ewok entries and playable Ewok stats). I'm really hoping that implies we have more in the pipe if freelancers are still hinting at NDAs.

Not to be a downer, but the Genesys books are printed in the US, so “on the boat” is just a figure of speech for them, using FFG’s existing statuses. And all of the adversary decks are print on demand. So, while we all share the hope that Rise of the Separatists will hit shelves soon, Genesys isn’t a reliable indicator of SWRPG product status.

New post

This thread more than any other contains those people who rout for the success of and the increase in new products, for the game. Absol has dedicated time and efforts to plotting and charting the ups and downs of the support FFG has provided to the lines. I am sure that using those numbers Absol could even tell us when the change in support for the product lines began, but I think we have all seen a steady decline in the last two years or so. That decline with the radio silence as to why is disheartening. We all invest heavily of our time and money in the game, and have a vested interest in seeing it continue and grow. For myself, each book I buy costs nearly 100$ after shipping to Canada and conversion, and I have bought every book in every line at that price. That represents a lot of financial investment. That's what makes the lack of comment on the delays and the delays themselves so hard to stomach.

So, I sent this to FFG;

On February 8th I asked that someone contact me with an update on the status of my pre-orders which are the latest in a long line of products to be delayed well beyond what should be expected with no notification, communication or discussion of the reasons therefore. I was told that the department would be in touch shortly and have received no communications. Is this how this company does business? Set a timeline for product release that is wildly exceeded with no stated reason and then not even take the time to be courteous enough to respond to its customers? I am not alone in my disgust at how the stream of products for the SW RPG line has been constantly delayed and beleaguered. Most of the people I began playing this game with have moved on to Pathfinder, Mouseguard, 5th Edition or other games that engage their customers and readily deliver products on time and with clear and open lines of communication. I will be sharing this letter and any response (or not) with the fans of this game so that they can see what sort of level of support they can expect from FFG. It is my sincere hope that you not only respond but provide reasons for the unrealistic delays, the utter lack of communication and begin to provide more regular updates to the people who have committed time and money towards supporting this company.

Two words. Green Ronin.

I think I said something a while back to this effect, and how I hoped it would not come to this. I'm thinking now that the shipping disaster was only the beginning. I'm very confused, though because FFG used to be very prompt with their SW books.

Green Ronin meant to indicate a publisher famous for delivering content at a decent pace?

They did used to pump out good content on a regular basis. That knowledge combined with the large amount of unrealized potential (compendiums of Species, Planets, Creatures... there's lots of treasure left to pull out, so why the unreasonable delays, and the lack of communication?)
