EDIT: I enjoyed being called a "Seer" waaay too much :) . I'm not obsessed with Mystics. No, not at all :P !

EDIT 2: I completely forgot that we don't have the species from Endless Vigil yet, so adding that in, it gives us 29.63 species expected.

Thanks for the number crunching! This helps give some perspective about species. I expect that nearly every species that others have wanted and voiced on the forums should make the cut (except for MiraLucas, *wink*). It helps me choke back anxieties when we miss out on Bith in any given splatbook.

I have a feeling that no legends species will be included since Disney is running the show, which sucks since that means I won't get the Sith or any of the plethora of Lizardy species, Trandoshans are nice but I want more. Now if Disney makes more species canon then they might have a chance of appearing.

I wouldn't give up hope.

They reused Thrawn for Star Wars Rebels, wich is canon.

Personally I would really love some Old Republic stuff, but TFA is the hot stuff right now, wich is cool too.

What I don't understand is they had this AoR adventure... Why did they not announce it at GenCon? It isn't like they are that far removed that they didn't have something to say... and it would have totally helped the RPG line.

The obvious answer is they didn't have it. There's a long process involved in publishing a game book, and they can only announce it after they've passed a certain point of its development. Friends Like These clearly wasn't at that point when GenCon rolled around, or if it was, they didn't have the marketing arm in place to get the word out in time.

Otherwise, yes, you're right. It's much better for a company to announce a wealth of product at a convention, and if they'd had an RPG book to show off it would have helped immensely. But while they didn't have anything new to announce, they did have the Soldier book available for sale, which is arguably better. After all, would you rather have the promise of a new book or an actual new book that you can buy, even if it was already announced months ago?

I think we're going in circles again, but didn't they also feature the TFA beginner game at GenCon? Yeah, it's been known about to the people who follow the news frequently, but what better product could you feature to bring new customers into the line?

It's also important to remember that they only have a narrow time slot to fill for their in-flight report. And they spent it on some of their more popular and profitable products.

I too believe we are going in circles, and would request that we table the discussion on GenCon for now. We've already hashed and rehashed it multiple times.

Thanks, all!

If the option was "information for everyone" or an "item for a select few that happen to be there and nobody else" I would rather have the information for everyone, every time.

Or not, I guess.

This is like the boobs all over again...

Well do you have stats on Lightsaber Crystals Absol?

I 2nd the notion to table this discussion on GenCon. We don't know what we may get at these events, and Absol197 has given us great insight into product release schedules. As for me, I'd rather side with our resident Mystic on projection, and not on the flurry of activity at any convention. Besides- we can't troll FFG into explaining their reasons of why they didn't release something because we thought they should/could.

Or not, I guess.

* Kinda want to know; too afraid to ask *

Depends on what you mean. So far, each Force career book has had two new lightsaber crystals, and the description odd Endless Vigil hints that that pattern will continue.

So we're likely to see 8 more lightsaber crystals at least, with possibly a few more sprinkled throughout the adventures and region supplements.

Or not, I guess.

Back in the Savage Spirits thread, there was an...incident. I can neither confirm nor deny whether I was involved, but the thread derailed into an in-depth discussion of boobs and the cultural feelings of various regions towards their overt display.

After about half a page of that, I was desperately trying to get people back on topic...

Well you mentioned that people think there will be compilation books for the three lines, would you think the would add more crystals in the FAD version. I personally want to see a pontite crystal since we already have the mephite crystal one of the many adegan crystals.

I mentioned that I think there will be compilation books for each of the three lines. The only evidence I have to that fact are products SWE17, SWE18, and SWE19 existing and my own feelings.

If they do do a gear compilation for Forever then yes, we may see up to five additional crystals, but that is pure unadulterated guesswork.

Well we've got Elom and Elomin showing up in Forged in Battle; pretty sure those are still Legends-only?

Legends did not mean purged from this plane of existence. It was about story continuity. They always said we'd likely see familiar names but shouldn't count on the backstory to remain the same.

Eloms are very likely one of the random creatures seen in either the Cantina scene or the Jabba's Palace scene (I'm sure someone can give you the image), and it appears there's a decent chance that we say an Elomin in The Clone Wars.

So no, they're (probably!) canon.

There was indeed an Elom in Jabba's palace.

Elomin didn't appear in any of the live-action movies; though I can't say with any certainty about any of the canonical cartoons.

Except the purge left us with unusual situations like with Darth Bane. The character is Canon due to The Clone Wars, but none of his story is. Without the story, who cares about the name?

New "pattern" I noticed: since Fly Casual 's announcement, there have been 3 or 4 books from other lines announced in between new Edge books (4 between FC and MotPQ; 3 between MotPQ and SM; so far, 4 after SM). Maybe instead of waiting for a specific amount of time, they've been waiting for a certain number of other book announcements for the other lines before announcing the new one.

If that's the case, we should be getting close, because both Age and Force have had 2 new announcements since Special Modifications was announced. Of course, this is hardly going to be a surprise for most of us - we all know that it's been a while, and I've been predicting a new Edge book for over a month now, so it's not like this is a revelation or anything. This just might be the factor I missed.

If it is, that explains the record-setting gap: whatever it was that caused the delay in new book announcements for Age and Force in Q1-Q2 would likewise have delayed a new Edge announcement if they were waiting on new books from other lines first.

Just something I noticed with my tired, obsessive number-grubbing. Carry on.

I, and they, never claimed everything/one would be back.

Good observation from the entire post, but this bit in particular. It could be that whatever slowed development of the AoR and FaD books also slowed the development of the next EotE book. THEN add to that your observation of whats printed between each Edge book and you may have an entire answer to the problem.

It could also be that since its the BH book (fingers crossed!) they are taking extra care in its final editing, internal testing, layout and artwork. BH may not BE the last EotE book, but it will most likely be its crown jewel.

I, and they, never claimed everything/one would be back.

Nobody ever required anyone to do anything.

My point, that you missed, again, the name of Darth Bane is meaningless without his story. His story is great, and brings reasoning to the Rule of Two. It shows what made it needed and what it was before.

Without Darth Bane's story, making his NAME canon is as useful as making MY name canon. It has zero weight and is rude to the fans. It would be equivalent if they added Thrawn as a Storm Trooper, rather than Grand Admiral. In the little bit of clips for next season, they not only made his NAME canon, but they made his CHARACTER canon with all the back story (except Outbound Flight) canon in one fell swoop.

In other words, a rose may be a rose, but calling a dandelion a rose does not make a dandelion pretty.

Back on topic , I am excited about the new Adventure and hope it is amazing. =)
