Trends, Statistics, and Predictions!

I agree completely, the Spy needs some love. But when you think of the world of Edge, at least to me, Smugglers and Bounty Hunters are the first two character archetypes that come to mind.

And what is the very first thing we ever learned about the Rebellion? They have Spies that stole some plans.

The correlation of iconic careers being last is my feeling for why the Spy might not be getting the love it needs until later...

Can they just release them all... now!

I love Engineer, but most of it will be from the Spec Mods book so i just dont think its as needed yet... which is probably why they will release it next :P gotta keep an interesting one until last it seems.

Engineer - Spy.

Consular - Warrior - Mystic

I disagree that engineer will be mostly copied from Special Modifications. I am willing to be the Engineer book will bring on vehicle and starship construction and modifications. Maybe buildings too. I really thought that would be a part of the Technician career, but they went personal gear instead.

Oh im fully behind the idea of vehicle construction rules in the Engineer book, it makes complete sense, with a Ship Builder, another character with the Signature Vehicle talents, but im hoping for a 25xp talent that allows the Silhouette cap to be split amongst multiple vehicles, so lets say they have the ability to have a Sil 7 Sig vehicle, that could become a Sil 3 & a Sil 4, much more useful.

I think a Weapons Expert would be great too, along with a Fortifications expert (im terrible with naming these things).

I believe the terms you might be looking at would be Munitions Officer and Combat Engineer. As far as allowing 2 signature vehicles, I'm not sure I would want that as a GM. A signature ship is a big deal, and to be honest, if your character can boost a Sil 7 ship, the military will pay anything to have you on board. That is a major improvement to a capital ship simply by being Scotty. Don't forget to overestimate repair times by a factor of 4 so you can remain a miracle worker!

Lol, true, but many of the Riggers ranked talents that effect the Signature ship are basically irrelevant to any Silhouette 7 ship; +1 Armour is nice but not exactly awe inspiring, +1 HT and +2 SS are completely irrelevant and negative handling is often overcome by skilled jockey, so unless you can get handling into the positives somehow then they have little effect as well.

But all those talents have a significant impact on small craft, particularly sil4 and under, being able to boost the entire parties worth of star fighters would be amazing.

But I do get that it would change the vehicles PC's come up against, but increasing threat levels is what us GM's do all the time.

Getting rid of negative handling means you can save skilled jockey for the setbacks from difficult piloting situations.

The problem I see with a Ship Builder specialization combined with ship building rules is time and resources . I can go on, but in context of the game, it's pretty far outside the scope of your average Age of Rebellion to focus on vehicle crafting.

I find it much more likely and practical to see a section for Game Masters on how to design a needed vehicle or ship when the need arises, if they can't find what they need in the game already. Dangerous Covenants already offers a list of generic vehicles outfitted with weapons; something like that, but maybe with a bit more options, and discussions into they why and how .

Okay, unless we get a new announcement today, we will officially have a new record for the longest time a single line has gone between announcements. Currently the record is 236 days. Starting tomorrow, Edge is going to push it to 237 and counting.

My feeling is that it'll stop somewhere around 245, so not much further to go, but still. Not a fun record to break :( .

However, good news with the bad, Forged in Battle should start shipping tomorrow!

How many days until the FFG In Flight report? Seems like a good time to announce the biggest supplement to the entire game!

Could even pull a Fallout Shelter and "It's available right now!" ... I can hope can't I?

You are more than welcome to hope :) ! However, me being who I am, and this being the thread that it is, I feel obliged to inform you that your hope is a low-probability scenario...

Also, In-Flight Report? Is this an official thing? I've not heard of it...

It's their big event they hold at GenCon, you know guys up on stage telling everyone how well Star Wars license is doing for them. last 4 years ago Edge Beta was announced, 3 Years ago AoR beta, 2 years ago FaD beta, last year FaD launched... This year No Disintegrations?

Been a few weeks since I've been to the forums. I was coming here hoping to find some news about the Bounty Hunter book.

*sigh*

Sorry, I'm not magic! I just run the numbers!

Although there's a chance it might be soon! See the current discussion Re: GenCon.

Ah, you're a bit magic. Don't sell yourself short.

Awww, thanks :) ~

But it's not magic, not really. It's really a combination of boredom and obsessive number-crunching.

And graphs. Lots and lots of graphs.

Don’t forget the Handwavium! ;) ;) ;)

Number crunching is magic. SORCERY. *wiggles fingers*

...They're doing it to me again! It looks like there may have been a boating accident, meaning I'll have to push back my estimate for Forged in Battle. Sorry folks; can't call 'em all.

I'll give it until tomorrow to make sure, but if we're still not shipping by then, my prediction gets pushed back for the first time since I started doing this :( ...

...Okay, I think we all need to just take a moment, read through the new news article about the Baron Munchhausen RPG, and take some time to consider just how perfectly awesome that is.

As someone with heavy German ancestry I am heartily familiar with his tales, and I laughed for a good six minutes after reading through that article the first time.

It looks like there may have been a boating accident

Wha... what? Boating accident? That's a metaphor, right? Right? Pretty please?

It's sort of a metaphor! It means that the proscribed average "On the Boat" time has passed, and we're still not shipping yet!

...wait, that's a bad thing, why am I using exclamation points?

Because your period key is broken.
