Played a match today with my buddy, running an ISD 2 Devastator with Darth Vader at the helm. His first kill was Raymus aboard the Tantive 4, which was perfect for the theme I had been going for with this fleet. I sent the Devastator out with three Glad II's who seemed to serve no other purpose than to get wiped away by Ackbar's Assault Cruiser. But the highlight of the match had to be when Devastator fired two full power front arc shots (my opponent had chosen my advanced gunnery) into the side of the MC80. 8 dice, followed by 11 dice proved to be too much for the previously untouched Mon Cal ship to withstand, and it crumbled before the Dark Lord's flagship. However, Devastator had sustained too much fire during the exchange with Ackbar, and with no defense tokens left to defend itself, the rebels four YT-2400's chased down the ship and destroyed it.
It was a bloody battle, and in the end, only Demo was left for me, and two CR90's for my opponent (although one of them should have died, I needed 2 damage to kill it, and I rolled hit/blank/blank/blank, with no more Vader for re-rolls). I am very excited for Devastator come wave 3 and 4, with the repair flotillas and the Interdoctor shoring up some of it's defenses a little better than is currently available in wave 2.
Anyone else have some fun success stories of running Devastator?
