I think it would do better if they sold some of the expansions, like Barnes & Noble does. But Target presents the Core Set as a standalone game, and it's a pretty limited game as a standalone product. There's not much variety in there if you have no expansions to add.

True and I don't know if this is chain wide but my local B&N has been downsizing their Xwing stock big time and has been getting at least an equal representation of Armada that they never used to carry. I was actually considering Armada since I have pretty much most of the xwing I will ever buy outside new xpacs but I can not justify another huge cost and massive mini army to store.

The Stores in the NC/SC Area have amazing sections for both games. Normally I go in there and they have at least 1 of each exp, in fact I got my raider and imp vets from my local B&N. All store close to me had 3 IV as the street date. I have been consistently impressed with the amount of toys they are carrying these days. (props to the Carolina Place Mall location for trying to start a monthly board game day)

Already got six... paid $17 for five of 'em, and $21 for one of 'em. This is no sale.

Well I will not complain at all, my Mom was at target yesterday and call me. She said they have the star wars force awakens core set on sale for 20 should I get you one, so now I have one more, Also that she bought my son a couple little mins from sheriff callie, so no sad times here.

I suspect the sets were a mandatory part of the Force Friday release, and Target is trying to clear out any that haven't sold.

To be fair, Target did the exact same thing with the original core set when it first came out, and have never carried any other X-Wing product.

They MUST have seen this coming, but it's still a great deal for anyone who's looking to bulk up a collection of basic ships and dice.

The great Target core set purge of 2016 is happening! Just picked up several TFA core sets for $11.98. YMMV as some Targets still have them priced at either 19.98 or 27.98 depending on the location.

Check www.brickseek.com go to the target search and look up sku 087-10-1337 to find them near you and to see what the price is. If the price is still 27 or 19, just keep watching it. They should drop in the next week or two.

I picked one up when they went to 27.98, since i didn't have TFA core yet.

Been watching daily for them to go lower. Just picked two more up locally for $11.98 each.

I had not been planning on buying another core but on clearance I couldn't resist. I've now got 2 blue, 1 red. Gives me enough to fly stripped down squads of 100 pt. on each side. Of course I'm still missing lots of cards even if you limit it to X and Tie. (Wedge, Howl, OL, IA, Juke, Comms, etc). Could also use more mechs for my X-wings but at least we're flying full squads.

The same happened to me. Advertised on brickseek.com for $12 at my local Target, but drove out there today to see them at $28. Oh well, I tried.

As was mentioned before, they had this same run with the original core set a couple of years ago. The prices were they same then too, ranging from $27.98 down to $12. I bought way too many cores back then. You had to keep checking for lower prices, it wasn't unusual for stores in the same town to have different prices.

Targets just did a price drop today for example this target 1 hour south of my has 5 of them for 12.00

12 dollars.

Sickening. That's the price of 2 gallons of gas here.

This bounty should be shared with those of us who no longer have Target Stores.

I snagged the extras mostly so i could snag some extra miniatures for repaints. I used to do a lot of painting, but havent done any in years, and am looking to get some repaints started. Good opportunity, plus extra templates, decks, and dice is never a bad thing.
