Fan Scenario: Shipyard Assault

By CyborgNinja, in Star Wars: Armada

After seeing the awesome Corellian Conflict Campaign expansion news, I thought I'd share this now.

MechaDeca and I planned a scenario where the Rebels bring in a small attack force to try and destroy some disabled VSDs before Imperial reinforcements have the chance to wipe them out. We enjoyed it, but it might still need a little fine tuning.

Have fun, and feel free to post any feedback you have after playing it. We designed it before the stats for the Interdictor and Liberty came out, so they might throw things off a bit. The stats in red are what we were considering modifying to balance it out, in addition to possibly adding a small anti-squadron attack to the shipyard.

Here's a link to the pdf of the scenario.

And here are images of the pages:

Nice! Can't wait to try it!

Cool!

How did you manage to create the .pdfs/images? Is that a function of the Mission Control software that FFG created for X-Wing?

I pulled the take-the-station scenario into Inkscape (open source version of Adobe Illustrator) and just messed with it to write up the new scenario.

I never checked out the Mission Control software, I'll have to take a look.

Aha, I see.

I'm quite jealous. While I'm a fair hand at pumping pixels, I have not yet managed to sit down and teach myself vector graphic. Every time I do, I just don't know how to make heads or tails of the interface. :(

Anyway, thanks for the scenario!

Like the look of this. I'll try it out if I ever get the chance. Looks like it might fit just right for a place in a campaign.

Also, quick question. Do the VSD's still get their usual defence tokens (specifically brace)?

The VSDs are at speed zero throughout the game so even if they have defence tokens they can't spend them.

I assume the base has an exception to this allowing it to spend defence tokens even if it is stationary.

But what if I have Konstantine....

But what if I have Konstantine....

Konstantine Text: At the start of each Status Phase, for each enemy ship at distance 1-5 of at least 2 friendly medium or large ships, you may increase or decrease that enemy ship's speed by 1 to a minimum of speed 1.

I don't see how this would help an imperial player. You can't change the speed of your own ships.

If you play the scenario with Imperials as attackers (either civil war or reverse the factions and take down 2 MC80s) then why would you speed them up and make the job harder for yourself?

The idea was that the VSDs are permanently disabled (no ability to speed up, no activations, no attacks, no defense tokens), just targets with hull values of 8.

Yeah - the station gets to use its defense tokens despite having no speed.

We hadn't seen Konstantine's ability when we were making the rules. The VSDs and the shipyard probably shouldn't count as "friendly ships" for his ability - the 100 pt deficit is rough for the Rebels.

True, true. The obvious thing that I wasn't thinking of.

Exactly the kind of thing that adds fun and variety to the game.

Thanks!
