Noooo....thats Brath.

Brath needs to NOT use his focus to actually get his ability at all. Meaning he either needs a TL to mod dice or hope for raw hits AND hope the lower damage w/o the Focus doesnt get evaded.

Literally never ever seen his ability go off except against a 0agi ship, which was hits. Would have been 3 hits if he focus'd but then they'd all be hits and not "crits"

Imps' only way to share focus tokens is Fleet Officer too, which if you use that to double the focus that means you most likely have a pricy ship following Brath around.

Stele atleast can get full dice modding and still get his ability .. sometimes lol.

im actually tempted to run him without a title and go Mangler Cannon to see how that plays out...

granted, you're right it's not nearly as bad as Brath

but eh

there are ways to guarantee the Steele crit, but they all involve Tie/D (rather, are more reliable with Tie/D) like Marksmanship (absolute garbage on an x7 but with two attacks...probably still not very good) or missiles (can't put missiles on an x7) with auto-crit chips

I guess VI Steele with palp is about the only time I'd run him over Vess? PS 9 is a fairly important deal

of course, that's just me coming from a "must modify EVERYTHING" stance. If you enjoy flying Mareek Steele more because he's Mareek motherloving Steele, than who cares about Vess? Speaking purely in game terms, though, only the jump to PS 9 seems significant enough to me.

I have plenty of times you just need to PTL him or stick fleet officer on a tie shuttle he`ll wreck anything you want.

Theres also Calculation. Cheap card so not like youre wasting points for it, unlike Marksman which can easily slap you with a 101pt list lol

Technically defenders are a good candidate for prockets. Even if you didnt bring gchips its a 5die attack, pretty likely to get a crit in there.

i dont think ive ever made a list where i ended at 101pts and went "well....theres this 1pt ept i technically dont need"

Flipside ive made over 100pt lists several times and downgraded a 3-4pt EPT to a 1pt lol

Love him in a defender.

Always wanted to run Vader, ATC stele, and a VI Vessery... but by the time I got my hands on a raider, the list was our of fashion.

And nowadays, the two aces without a single autothrusters card in the set makes me a little nervous.

Actually, all he needs is Predator or Palpatine. (because very few run him with PTL and Twin Ion MK II).

And 20pts for a support shuttle isn't bad imho.

As stele never flew an advanced it's got to be the defender.

Stele never flew that bad AD x1, he was all about the Avenger (TIE/Advanced x2), which rocked harder than the defender anyway.
