Read that Sensor cluster lets you spend a focus token t turn 1 blank result into 1 evade result. If I get it right with Poe he gets 2 evades if he gets 1 Eye and 1 Blank. Poe has focus. 1 eye turns to 1 evade because Poe has focus. Then spend 1 focus to turn blank into evade.
Poe loves Sensor Cluster?
Yup.
Poe actually has a reason to use his Tech slot now.
yes
except
- when thrusters already do it for you
- when you're taking a lot of shots a turn and you might get more use out of the persistent focus
- when r5-p9 does basically the same thing but a lot better due to it being regeneration, except for helping you not get nuked in one turn...assuming one evade off of a die would save you
the bb-8 variant could really use the added defense; time will tell whether or not it'll be too expensive to run effectively, though
for the regenerating variant, I think I'd rather have the tech in heroes ("perform action" before "check pilot stress" on red maneuver, we can spy from the teaser box) especially if it's a single point. It lets Poe t-roll/4k and still focus
So Poe can now roll two blanks on his evade roll and still get two evades as long as he has a focus token (one from Authothrusters and now one from sensor cluster) Is that how it would work?

myup
guaranteed two evades for one roll (after you spend the focus, you ain't guaranteed ****)
which is exactly the same guaranteed damage as r5-p9 and r2-d2 + thrusters, but you can stack r2-d2 with this tech

I was just going to say, you'd never run this with r5-p9, but with r2-d2 it'll work well.

nnnnnnnno.
Drop Garven, rebuild Kyle with recspec and title, drop the EPT on Kyle for anything better, and replace R5-P9 with R2-D2 so you can still regen and spend multiple focuses on multiple defenses and not worry about not getting to regen. Your list doubles down unnecessarily on giving Poe focus when all he needs is 2 at most. As a result, it's inflexible and offensively compromised. Replacing Garven with Jake allows for 2 extremely hard to hit aces in the list, and give it some much needed maneuverability. Dropping the unnecessary upgrades on Kyle and going back to basics while increasing it's offensive ability with dorsal turret instead of autoblaster, and allowing stacking of focus tokens for offense and defense is the smartest use for Kyle. Poe needs the ability to regen no matter what, and given the loss of Garven, R5-P9 is unusable in this list.

Another solution is to replace Jake with Baylen Stramm in an ARC-170 with R3-A2 and Tactician(which would require a reduction of Dorsal Turret to Autoblaster again, but the ARC would make up for the loss of both Jake and the turret, as it would counter Aces but still throw modded dice 50% of the time.
Or. just add Biggs. Use the extra points to add stuff to Poe/Kyle. Poe would be a late game monster. Biggs to prevent all damage from hitting him, then Kyle allowing Poe to smack away any incoming fire, and then by the point where Kyle is dead, what's left on the other side can't touch him.

I'm not a fan of PTL on Poe. He doesn't have enough greens to support it. With BB-8, he can kind of fake it (But you tie almost all your stuff to green moves), but Regen Poe is better off with another ept. You could swap to Predator for a little more punch, or drop to Adaptability and upgrade Kyle to a TLT.
