Composer for your RP adventures.

By SuperArppis, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I know you are going to say John Williams... so he's off-limits! :D

Otherwise, who'd you pick to do it? Who else would fit the style and tone of the adventure your characters are taking part of?

I'd have to go for a bit of odd choice: Óscar Araujo. I haven't heard much of his work to be fair, but I have heard his amazing scores for Castlevania Lords of Shadow 1 & 2. I think he has that certain "epic" feel in the soundtrack, quite good melodies combined with quiet tunes and bombastic mighty build-ups.

So who'd be your choice? :)

Bear McCreary, for me. I'm at work, so I can't post any video, but I loved his work on Battlestar Galactica.

I haven't watched the show. But I liked the music he did on youtube. :)

Great choice.

Christopher Franke. Best known for this Babylon 5

Either that or Jerry Goldsmith (superman)

Goldsmith I know, but Christopher Franke isn't that familiar, well I did watch Babylon 5's first two seasons when they came on tv, but the music never stuck with me. :)

Either way, Goldsmith is gold!

Grandmaster: Nobuo Uematsu (the old FF series)

Surprising! And pretty good choice.

G.E. Smith and the Saturday Night Live Band... *cough*

Noriyuki Iwadare - specifically his Jazz arrangements

Ohhh right. I was thinking: Who was this again. Then I remembered. :D

Yeah his work is very good. I like his Phoenix Wright Jazz-ups. :)

That's why I picked him lol

Ramin Djawadi.

His work includes Game of Thrones, Warcraft, Pacific Rim, Person of Interest, and tons of other shows with great music.

Other than him, Bear McCreary.

Ohhh yeah Ramin is very good. I like his music yeah. :)

I like Ramin too. It was a staple of my poor college student diet.

You guys are all apparently much more cultured then myself. I can't name a modern composer beyond John Williams.

John Williams: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qx7A4sxJi7c

If not playing a game where the PCs are stranded on a planet,

Gustav Holst https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9ij1uUB9gT0

I attended a film scoring seminar where we watched A New Hope with all Holst music instead of Williams, it gave the movie a much darker ominous feel.

NO WILLIAMS! Alright? :D

That's the 1 rule. :)

Well hey! Think of something, game, movie or something with cool music. Then see if you like that composer's work.
