Just learn the goodness of "SUDDENLY PS3!"
And even then it's good, but not an auto-include.

my Y wing is now PS 5 with
TLT title Predator and
Marksmanship ..... but as great as it sounds we have failed and or died on missions to get this far. Finally able to dish out real damage and you want to nerf it....... naaa i vote d) Let it stand, as HotAC can be brutal and the players could use an edge.
Thank you all for the discussion and thoughts. I appreciate the feedback,
Listening to the Shuttle Tydirium podcast and reading other thoughts on the campaign, it seems HotAC is a rough go (especially for a group like mine, who doesn't play a lot of X-Wing). I think we'll leave things as they are until we get a feel for the campaign. (I am almost tempted to suggest we use the 'Easier' difficulty level (HotAC p.33) for this first playthrough.)

draw 2 story arc to start with ... play the first part of each mission, then the second it will help you be ready for the final
OK.....I have a question. Can you take multiple of the same modification? I would say no, but I've seen some people show their list of HotAC and they have things like Y-wings with all Shield Upgrades. So, you can have 3, 4, or 5 Shield Upgrades on one ship. I can see the logic for and against. I'm just wondering what other people do. Or is this a whole new thread topic?
My group came up with house rule to consider the PS of normal ties to be one less than the average of the rebel group instead of PS 1. It made predator useful in early missions specially for thinning the herds how ever as players gained PS predator became less useful which encouraged players to come up with more interesting and often superior combinations.
You shouldn't have to pay a penalty for switching modifications. The idea is that you have a hangar and you can get a bunch of different modifications and swap them out before each mission. It's like picking different Torpedo types before a mission.

Awesome! I'm glad people are listening to the show. Has it helped you decide to play it or even figure it out? We've been doing a bunch of the HotAC shows and we love them, but I never know what people think of them overall.
the starter missions are easier and easy xp farming (if you play smart) .... once you get the final mission in each story arc you will be glad of a few predators. also if you get shot down predator or tlt is most likely to be lost. i lost my tlts twice so far and it gets expensive re buying them

HotAC, page 12: All upgrades are limited
except
secondary weapons, bombs, & shield/hull upgrades. So multiple shield/hull upgrades are allowed (even encouraged, given later missions.
)
Also HotAC, page 12, states, in pertinent part:
All upgrades you have unlocked are available to you when preparing your ship for a mission. You can own more upgrades/abilities than
the slots on your player scoresheet and choose which to equip for each mission.
Thus you can own multiple upgrades and use the ones you want for each mission. There is no exception for EPT/Pilot Abilities, so by the letter of the rules you can own as many EPT/PAs as you want and swap them out between missions. While this may not make sense, this is a minis game and not an RPG. If you want to add house limitations to give your game a more-RP flavor go for it.
Finally, this entire set of fan made material is technically a set of "house rules". As long as all players agree to things up front, I'd say change as much of it as you want.

I love the show; it is the only X-Wing podcast I regularly listen to. I appreciate the HotAC episodes; it did drive my decision to run it for our gaming group (who is on an RPG hiatus this summer). We all like X-Wing, but we love co-op over competitive.
