Well, I doubt that it will be on a 6x3 board for that scenario... I also doubt that one player will fit the entire 2000 bill. Most likely, 2 or 3 players a side, with fleets of around 1000 points each.

I just realized that with a 2000 point game, you could bring 3 or 4 interdictor cruisers and make everyone on the opposite side start at speed zero.

I think for imperials, your best bet is a WALL of ISDs each with intel officers, XI7s, and motti. Fill in the rest of the points with interdictors and squadrons.

I belive that the 2000 final battle thing was missunderstood in some way.

I would believe 750-1000 per player. That or maybe it was supposed to be 2000-2500 for both sides combined.

I don't believe it is a misunderstanding, it makes sense if you have a 6 player campaign, with 3 fleets on each side, each tallying 600 pts ish that the total battle would be very close to 4k pts with 2k on each side. I could put together a 2k point fleet with just my models, but I think the idea is that this would be split up between multiple people. Actually, much smaller than 2k points a side wouldn't feel very epic at all.

Decided to burn some time and check out what kind of 2k point fleets I could put together, but they pretty much ended up looking similar to yours above. I guess with that many points you end up throwing the kitchen sink. I think that it will end up working much better as three separate 660 point fleets where you can kind of shape and specialize each one, ie- one carrier fleet, one fast torpedo fleet, and a big gun fleet.
