I just wanted to extend a big "Thank You" to Ryan Farmer for the spectacular Starkiller Base playmat graphic.
I just finished running a 12 week league at my FLGS and had 2 of these printed up as part of the prize support.
Towards the end of the season I brought one in and started playing matches on it. This was the general reaction as I unveiled it for the first time:
*unrolls mat*
Opponent: "whoawhoawhoa... what. is. THAT?!"
Me: "This? This may or may not be part of the prize support for the league..."
Opponent: "Daaaammmmnnn"
That DETAIL! A ton of work went into this - thanks dude. It's another shining example of this community being excellent to each other.
As a bonus I shared the GIF he made of the layer build up and it blew people's minds!

Very similar material. I would say they are just a tiny bit thinner, but the quality is about on par in my opinion. Plus square edges which is a huge plus.
This makes a "killer" background for my iPhone too. (See what I did there...lol)

I think it looks great, I just have the star may bc I thought the Death Star one look outa place, I think this one is better becuase it's kind of a birds eye view you can realy pretend your flying over the base.

As a recipient of one of these mats I'd like to say thanks to Ryan for the graphic and thanks to Kris for running the league!
I now have a lovely looking mat to use at home which is awesome as before my girlfriend and I were playing X-Wing directly on the carpet in our living room.

Technically, it's lens bloom. There is zero lens flare on this mat. Bloom is a blurry glow; Flare is focused shapes (think "rings, lines, polygons").
