Can someone explain how bombing with a slam move works please. Am I right if I make the first part of the move, drop a bomb then move away with the 2nd of the slam move?.

Or can I only drop the bomb if I have advanced slam card.

The only ways you can use SLAM and bombs is if you have a bomb that drops on reveal of the dial then you drop it before you do any movement. If you SLAM the only thin you can do is drop an Action bomb after you've completed the SLAM maneuver and only if you have Advanced Slam equipped.

No, the SLAM action do not include the reveal step, so you can't drop a reveal bomb during SLAM.
